As of yesterday the recovered cases for the U.S. were still in the high single digits. I think that that was likely accurate, and there is some clerical thing that needs to be straightened out.
Likely the typo in Kansas was caught in that a jump of more than an order of magnitude catches the eye, and they figured it was better to set it to zero while straightening things out than have 100+ false recoveries.
None of these numbers means anything.
The testing is wrong. The data isn’t being properly collected.
We’re destroying the country on faulty data and hysteria because WE HAVE TO DOOOOO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW.
This is a manufactured crisis.
Boy, there are some people that expect perfection in every thing, every day. And yet, if they looked at their lives with such detail there is no way they could stand the scrutiny.
What difference does it make how many recovered? If you know them, you know if they made it. If they didn’t, who cares?
People are trying to count raindrops.

I also recognize that, in general, the authorities are saying it takes 14 days to be deemed 'recovered'; as such, since the US had only 98 Confirmed Cases 14 days ago, Recovered Cases can't be TOO high.
But this Recovered Case situation is hard to blame on a hiccup.
Tens of thousands of people may end up dying and I’m sympathetic - but destroying the country puts ALL of us in danger for a virus that is no more than the typical flu for 80% of the people who get it.
We’re far better off leaving the country open and practicing good hygiene and then directing efforts to expand health care then forcing us all into house arrest for the next 2 -4 -8 months until the nice man on TV gives us his blessing.
This is not how a free country works or how a liberated people act.
This IS how a totalitarian dictatorship works.
The JH site has had this problem for three days. The map shows no U.S. recoveries (I hadn’t looked in Kansas) when you click on the red dots. The Total Recovered list showed no U.S. recoveries. But if you click on US line on the Total Confirmed list it would show just over 100 recoveries.
I live in Maryland, home of Johns Hopkins.
They are reporting at least three recovered and one fatality, yet this chart captures none, in their hometown
Now Johns Hopkins site is showing 108 recovered.

I'm not saying it's NOT on purpose ... I'm just saying it looks like a data entry error that will probably get corrected when pointed out.
