A plan developed by the federal government to combat the coronavirus reportedly projects the pandemic will last 18 months or more and could feature multiple "waves," The New York Times reported.
"Shortages of products may occur, impacting health care, emergency services, and other elements of critical infrastructure," the plan warns, according to the Times. "This includes potentially critical shortages of diagnostics, medical supplies (including PPE [personal protective equipment] and pharmaceuticals), and staffing in some locations."

If it lasts 18 months, that’s going to overlap next years flu - Kung Flu 20 - Maybe this will be like political campaigns - never ending
i.e., long enough to completely destroy Trump & his economy
Panic mode - it could be Years
Normal mode - yeah, just another flu variant.
Personally, I am sure it will lesson, then re-surge, and then finally get relegated to the general cold/flu season.
It will finish off America once and for all.

It is only 2 more days until winter is over and the flu/virus season to pass.

Fear and hysteria cloud judgement and often block peoples’ ability to see beyond the immediate crisis. Yes, CV is a nasty virus that is severely disrupting societies throughout the globe but we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that some of the best minds, organizations and companies in the world are feverishly (pun intended) working on treatments and vaccines.
Progress is already being made. Not as quickly as we would like, but solutions are being developed to combat this problem.
Yep, there is no way Trump would allow it.
Please elaborate on this supposedly cheap and available treatment for the virus. I haven’t seen anything about this.

Will the virus still be out there in 18 months? Probably.
But like all of the prior ones it will be on the decline and in the process of fading away.
Billions of years of biological history don’t change because the NY Times wishes it were so.
