Guns and ammunition have been flying off shelves at Lehigh Valley firearms businesses, just as supermarkets and other stores have been stripped bare by Americans panicked by the coronavirus crisis.
"I think everybodys running scared, thats pretty much it, Eric Koehler, owner of Eagle Arms Sports Shop, said Wednesday from his Upper Macungie Township store, blaming in part the COVID-19. "The markets are collapsing, the virus is here, and blah blah. Its just too many things for people to accept at one time, you know?

It’s time.
Nice.
come on people, we cannot some disease be more worrisome about guns than the Obamba.
Half are trying to protect their TP stockpiles. The other half are going on TP raids.
Pass the popcorn.
I always hoped I’d live through these times. Maybe some good will come of it.
They're not running scared, they are exercising prudence.
States and municipalities are announcing that they are either releasing prisoners or not arresting people for certain crimes.
We have to become our own first responders. Which, in reality, we've always been.
Sure it did... Wolf undoubtedly ordered funny business in all the server rooms...
Given the IT maintenance load required for the insta-check database there could be other factors.
We live rurally. You can’t tell me that any cop will be available once the hospitals start filling and the shelves cease to be re-stocked. Once this virus goes into full swing, all bets are off as far as police protection.
People are seeing their chickens stolen here already in our small town in N. Virginia.
I used to live south of Harrisburg, PA in a small township with no police protection except the PA State Police. If you were lucky, and there happened to be a car “in the vicinity”, you might get a response in 15 - 20 minutes. At night, add 15 minutes to that, as there were only 4 patrol cars for the entire country. 2 of those were controlling traffic on I-83 and 1 was detailed to a federal drug task force in the furthest corner of the county. All this was considered ‘normal’. So I know you’re feeling a little ‘exposed’ cause I’ve been there.
Lol. True! I saw a line outside the gun store today near me in So Cal. We asked what was going on and a guy laughed and said he was getting prepared to defend his toilet paper!
i’m an FFL in Colorado and usually when i submit an online Instacheck with the CBI their webpage indicates that there 3-5 checks in the queue and the wait time is something like 5 minutes; a couple of days ago i submitted a request, and the webpage said their were 2500 requests in the queue and the wait time was over 17 hours ...
btw, the banks around here have now limited the amount of cash that one can withdraw because apparently a whole bunch of fools believe this is the zombie apocalypse or something and were attempting to withdraw all of their money in cash ...
“Pass the popcorn.”
hope you stock up before social media trolls claim that there’s a popcorn shortage, thereby stampeding the herd into running out and creating one ...
I stopped at 3 places today and all were out of 9mm.
Was it coronavirus? Or was it not sending criminals to jail?
>Its time.
Agreed, it’s time. I guess folks thought they would have time, problem was it was always only borrowed time. Prudent move was to use the borrowed time to stock up. Nobody to blame but the person in the mirror.
I live in a rural community in SW Pennsylvania. No local cops only State Police. 20-30 minutes is the average wait time. One has to be armed out here to protect family and property.
