Clearly, the patients damaged their lungs themselves as part of a political plot!
(Yes, sarcasm.)
I think there has to be several strains going around.
We were told the exact opposite.
I even heard the tail end of a Brian Kilmeade radio show where they were saying “So, yes, that is an idea suggested, to allow children and under age 60 to go everywhere and save the economy but totally quarantine anyone over 60. Because only old people get the virus and die.”
Slight problem is that the statistics on who has died just don’t bear this out.
I believe there are two strains of the virus. I wonder which strain is present in these younger people.

I’d heard this weeks ago, that 25% of the younger people had some kind of scarring in the lungs.
They said better than a blood test was a lung X-Ray for detecting this.
The truth trickles out occasionally. The difference is younger people don’t die.
I think that if I saw that my doctor had used the word “terrifying” about conditions of lungs of young people to a reporter during a worldwide lung health scare I’d change doctors.
There are lots of other words to choose which are more medical and not listed in the thesaurus alongside “frightening” or “scary”.
A person might even think that someone is trying to scare people - maybe young people who have heard that they’re not especially susceptible.
