Swine flu deaths in US [2009...Obama]

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that swine flu infected nearly 61 million people in the United States and caused 12,469 deaths. Worldwide, up to 575,400 people died from pandemic swine flu.

I don’t remember stores closing or anything else of the sort.

Obama and the media swept H1N1 under the rug.
Obama could have cared less how many Americans were infected or died

H1N1/Swine Flu was kind of a dud....60 million cases...12,469 fatalities (more mild than regular flu). Using current numbers (excluding China & Iran, don’t trust their #’s)...if COVID-19 gets to 60 million cases in the U.S. that would equal 2.1 million fatalities. Of course “current numbers” could be greatly influenced by undetected cases in the U.S. being much higher (the “denominator”)(lack of testing). If hundreds of thousands or millions of Americans have had or currently have COVID-19 and aren’t needing hospitalization or dying then that brings down the “fatality rate” to closer to “regular flu” rates. Also, with the current crack downs it is very unlikely to get to 60 million cases.

swine flu infected nearly 61 million people in the United States and caused 12,469 deaths

That's a death rate of only .02%.

COVID-19's death rate is 3% overall. It's higher than the Spanish flu (2-3%).

So, if 61 million Americans caught COVID-19, there could be 1,830,0000 deaths.

And look at what happens when the hospitals are overwhelmed: Italy is suffering the most with a death rate about 7%.

RNC should buy billboards with an easy-to-read chart comparing swine flu and WuFlu. Compare numbers of infections, numbers of deaths, response time of respective POTUSes, etc.

People verbally discuss the differences, Rove might have it on a whiteboard, Hannity might have a graphic. But the people who need to know the information won’t see Rove, Hannity, etc. They can’t miss billboards when they’re sitting at a stoplight, or driving a long stretch of road.
