COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio's top health official plans to order the polls closed hours before voters were supposed to cast ballots in the state's presidential primary.
Gov. Mike DeWine announced the decision late Monday after a judge had ruled against his request that in-person voting be delayed in an effort to avoid crowding at polling places.
“During this time when we face an unprecedented public health crisis, to conduct an election tomorrow would would force poll workers and voters to place themselves at a unacceptable health risk of contracting coronavirus," he said in a statement. “As such, Health Director Dr. Amy Acton will order the polls closed as a health emergency.”
This is all new territory, but really, how could elections be fair if we are told to not congregate with more than 10 people; and most election workers are older which is the age group most affected by the Coronavirus so those workers won’t even show up?

I was trying to decide whether to vote or not. The only real competition was for state senator. Since a Republican will very likely win the general, this is the real election. I would have done my usual protest vote against the RINO Rep in my district, but he will win anyway.
Money talks. Bullshit walks. Guess which party will put up the money.
If this virus is really so serious, then every state should select its Presidential Electors via the state legislature. There is no Constitutional obligation to hold public elections.
State legislators could vote via the web or by phone.

While I think DeWine has lost his composure in overreactions in the past week, I like this move. Right or wrong the decision was made, and this piss ant judge is just being a dick.
I assume the State Health Director works for the Governor... can an underling have more authority than her boss?
She’s really flexing her muscles. Anyone who loses in this primary will be in court, you can be sure.

I hate to say it but this was a lawless act. And, Acton is a Democrat tool. She needs to be dumped but DeWine instead is being led around by the nose.
And, no there aren’t 100,000 cases of Wuhan virus in Ohio, yet. Much less 5 days ago. The number of tests being given is finally soaring, and it will be shocking when these number start coming in. But, only because we have been seeing low numbers for a while because of the lack of testing.
A statistical sampling program must be put into place to ascertain the actual state of the population and then reason can replace stupid panic.
