President Donald Trump urged Americans not to hoard food on Sunday during a White House press conference that came just minutes after the Federal Reserve announced new steps to shield the U.S. economy from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
“You don’t have to buy so much,” Trump said. “Take it easy. Relax.”

Glad to see that others are observing what the Daily Mail is up to with their rumors and scare mongering.

YES and yet this 330 count of positive out of 40 million was enough for the governor to shut down bars, restaurants, skating rinks, movie theaters, gaming arcades, and any other forms of entertainment where people would assemble!! This has become utter madness!!!

330 that you know about, but the testing is playing catch up so it could be a lot more.
Even so, at the growth rates we've seen in countries outside of china, this is spreading at a rate of 10x every 2 weeks. Which means if the 330 is acccuate, in 2 weeks 3,300 cases, in 4 weeks 33,000 cases, in 6 weeks 330,000 cases.
But if you take action now, maybe you slow it down or even stop it. If you take action now, maybe 330 becomes 1000 when the testing gets caught up.
And then thanks to the social distancing measures, the new cases start dropping and it stops with under 2000 cases. Okay that's a utopian view, because you'll have cases coming in from other states, and there are still plenty of international countries that it can come in from.
But the key is to sow it so it doesn't overwhelm the hospitals. You have to slow the growth so that the number of cases at any time is below what the hospitals can handle.
Stay calm and carry on... That works best, not jumping up and down like a lunatic and screaming ‘Fire’, that doesn’t work at all.
Went to Tractor Supply and got 32 ounces of Farnam Horse Health Povidone-Iodine Solution 10% for 12 bucks.
Even diluted, it’s deadly to everything.
All that hand sanitizer is USELESS unless you marinate yourself in it for 15 minutes.
Plain old dish soap or Ivory will dissolve the virus.
People wasted their money.

I don’t see anything controversial in what the President said - except the last word.
you don’t have to buy so much - that’s true, production and supply chain lines are normal.
Take it easy - yes, don’t stress, don’t panic.
Relax - no. you need to be vigilant, but don’t panic
But the people doing the panic buying are stocking up on things like toilet paper, bottled water and nothing else. Genuine preppers would have had things like that months ago, not fighting over it now.

Panic buying is in full swing here.
I just came back from a major supermarket that was crazy crowded and I could see things disappearing.
Outside there was a man who looked exactly like me running while pulling a wagon full of food packages that spilled out in the middle of a very busy intersection.
I thought - what a disgrace.
Spent 88 euros and going back in a few minutes for more.
That’s the reality of social media and Internet. People see something happen in one corner of the world and suddenly everybody else starts doing it.
My finger is bleeding I don’t even know how.
As a Mormon and life long prepper can confirm. Most people even here do not realize how much and what even 8 weeks of food looks like. Why 8 weeks well Dr. Fuaci the head Dr. of our administration’s coronavirus response team the man with 30+ years of experience in these matters who has served under Reagan and ever other administration since, who is the expert on this matter. Got on national tv yesterday and said 8 weeks of social distancing is optimistic at best and that’s with strick movement controls like China did who is at a little over 8 weeks into the lockdowns and have achieved relative control if you believe them.
That is why people are buying 8 weeks worth of food. Which for 4 people 2 adults and two adolescent age children would fill by volume 4 standard grocery carts. With prudent buying of protein, carbohydrates,and canned veggies one cam fit two weeks worth in a standard Wal-Mart sized cart. Most people have no clue what a years worth of food looks like it’s not a closet or pantry full its a 20x20 shipping container full. We have as is part of our faith a years or more of food it takes up half of a two car garage in sealed buckets, 10# cans, and shelving floor to ceiling that’s what a years food looks like. Two months of frozen food is 10 cubic feet of freezer space we have two of them full to the brim.
So when you government expert and the man who is directly advising the response team as their chief medical officer says we are going to need at least 8 weeks of isolation people took that at face value and started to buy the needed volume of food to accomplish such. It’s not panic buying when you man in charge says 8 weeks be ready. Like I said people who do not prep on a regular basis have ZERO clue what 8 weeks of food volume looks like. Those of us who saw this coming bought fresh and frozen foods over the last two months to last for 4 months in addition to the shelf stable years worth, better to eat fresh food than dry and canned. The problem is the supply chain is not set up for every one to go out in one day or even a week and buy 8 weeks worth of food volume. Again its not panic when the lead expert says ve ready for 8 plus weeks. Regardless of the options of the but flu bros, or the democrat conspiracy theories bros our government knows the true nature of this bug they get classified information and that information has prompted them to take measures that we haven’t seen since 1918. Really the opinions of the citizens doesn’t matter the government has a duty to respond and they are doing exactly that. Force will be used if needed to isolate people. The declaration of national emergency give then vast power to do expressly that. It would be prudent to be prepared for when they lockdown the USA for the next few months it’s not up to the citizens to decide anymore the response to the pandemic our elected officials are now in control by rule of law. That’s why we elected them they have the power now that an emergency has been declared.
