Charlie Baker Is Not the Next Trump

There is a lot of talk about who the Republicans might field as their candidate in the 2024 presidential race. Aside from some discussion of a Trump offspring (Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump), many conservative pundits think that the Republican Party would be best served by taking a break from the Trump brand and thus denying the liberal media of all-too-easy targets for charges of nepotism and undeserved privilege.

In addition to the wildly successful policy achievements of his presidency -- which have resulted in unequivocal, undeniable economic advances across all demographic groups, U.S. energy independence, the rebuilding of the military, the appointment of hundreds of conservative federal judges, greatly improving our border security and much more -- President Trump’s enduring legacy for true conservatives is likely to be this:

He has shown, once and for all, that Republicans don’t have to be punching bags for the liberal media, afraid, unwilling and unable to fight back, too timid to call out media lies and distortions and holding back their criticisms of the MSM under the pathetically misguided notion that if they (the Republicans) “play nice,” then the liberal media will treat them well and cast them in a reasonable light.

President Trump’s greatest strength right from the start was his recognition that the liberal media will never treat Republicans fairly or honestly, will never cut them a break, will never give them credit for any accomplishment. As a local political analyst here in Massachusetts said, “If President Trump cured cancer tomorrow, the NY Times’ headline would be, ‘Trump Callously Ignores Diabetes Sufferers.’” President Trump introduced the phrase "fake news" into the popular lexicon, and it has stuck. He unabashedly points to the media at his rallies and says,

Ivanka’s out.

She can barely contain her liberal side.

The son seems tough.

She seems tough too, just not conservative enough.

The Republicans have a very strong bench. I can think of at least a half dozen Freedom Caucus House members who would be excellent presidential timber.

In the Senate, Tom Cotton and Josh Hawley are impressive new faces.

It’s the Democrats who have to worry about reinventing themselves, and their Soro/Socialist Party.

It’s gotta be somebody who observes how Trump morphs into the human gatling gun in the presence of the media and learns this style. There’s no way to play nice with these evil leftys.

Tall Deval is a disaster as Governor - he can’t even run the MBTA without screwing it up. Don’t forget the 7 people killed in New Hampshire because the RMV let the drug addict Russian drive with a suspended license.

2024 Tall Deval? No Way!!!

Massachusetts governor, Republican Charlie Baker.

Not only no, but hell no. Bottom line is there is no replacement for President Trump.

My true worry (if in case POTUS is re-elected) is 2024. The GOP WILL basically say it’s your (DNC) turn. The DNC is a rabid dog that wants blood.

I like Trump Jr.

I have heard him speak and I like him. Read his book. He is competent and, I believe, conservative.

Yeah, no kidding. Massachusetts, Harvard, pro-abort, wanted Syrian “refugees” coming in, thinks Massachusetts gun laws are a model for the nation. Global warming believer wanted to stay in the Paris agreement scam. Against offshore drilling, joined an all star team of leftists to oppose the reform of Obamacare in 2017.

Giant Wikipedia puff piece page complete with the creepy artsy posing photo all politicians get.

The hell with him.

Might as well vote for a democrat as him. He would even be worse than Ivanka.

It is a huge curiosity to me that Vice President Pence is not being promoted as President Trump’s successor!

The man will have been in Trump’s hip pocket for 8 years, and by 2024, should have Trump’s entire tool kit downloaded; he’ll be eminently qualified to carry on!

If we want 8 more Trump years after Trump “retires,” Pence has GOT to be our man.

With Don, Jr. as VPOTUS?

Another RINO governor from Assachusetts? Nope! He’d no doubt pick the Magic Underwear Heathen as his bottom and throw the election to AOC, given the chance. No Sale. Try again, GOPe.

So Pence-Hawley in 2024; Pence deserves the nomination based on his performance.
