This follow-up to my March 12 coronavirus piece comes with the same important caveats, important enough that I’m stating them up front: I’m not here to alarm anyone, and I am not here to scoff. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I do know what our experts are saying, and this is me reporting what the experts are saying.
Andrew Slavitt, Barack Obama’s former acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is quoting experts who say more than one million Americans are already doomed because the “virus was not contained.”
“Currently experts expect over 1 million deaths in the U.S. since the virus was not contained & we cannot even test for it,” Slavitt tweeted Thursday. “The original sin is Trump’s months long denial and his dismantling of public health and response infrastructure.”
Let’s be very clear about what Slavitt is saying…

In no uncertain terms, using these experts, Slavitt is saying that it is already too late to save a million Americans, and that more than one million Americans will be dead in the next 12 to 18 months.
He is saying that no matter what we do to contain and mitigate, no matter what we do going forward, it is fait accompli that more than one million Americans will die and that this is all President Trump’s fault.
Let’s be just as clear about who Slavitt is…

Contrast Italy where it began in cold Lombardy has 25,000 cases
Iran....God knows....no news
South Africa ...none listed yet....highest concentration is north coast Africa where it’s of course cooler
It has been around forever probably but took off in Wuhan in early November and despite that the heaviest concentration of cases I overwhelmingly in colder climes
Just looking at it rationally what does that tell you?
You can’t say well shucks wardaddy infected Chinese or China travelers only went back to cold countries from November onwards
Africa is eat with Chinese there ....
If it can thrive in warm climates it will be an anomaly amongst viral respiratory contagions
Remember that when folks say otherwise
If you google this you will get a line up of liberal orgs dismissing this salvation of warmer weather but offering evidence to prove this virus will be the exception
If you use duckduckgo you will find plenty of articles supporting the idea warm weather inhibits corona virus
Just look at the global map
Average temp Lombardy today is 30-50
Well, listening to the doomsayers on here if there is a 1% death rate then we’re looking at over 3,000,000 people dying.
The equation is fatality rate times infections.
If everyone does sane things, it might be squelched with a couple of thousand - tops.
If everyone treats it like they’ve treated the flu recently, it might be hundreds of thousands - and many of them from deaths inspired by the disease but not caused directly by it.
If everyone treats it like an Iranian licking-rock, it might be millions. At least until someone dares a frat-bro to put it in their mouth like a billiard ball.
China would have disappeared his ass in a minute.
What difference does that make, since we all died 12 years ago from Global Warming.

Australia is still in summer.
Corona type virus have a difficult time surviving in heat and humidity.
This might explain why the Wuhan Virus spreads much slower in Australia.
