Liquor (rum, whiskey, gin, etc.) can only be bought in PLCB stores. Beer, wine can be bought in distributorships, wineries, gas stations and grocery stores (some).

It will. Natural gas, oil and drinking are the only things this miserable state have for taxation.

Why on earth would they cut people off from liquor and wine?

State liquor stores, state employees.

And the union said “shut ‘er down”.

That’s why.

That’s also why after all this is over the people of PA will ensure those state employees are out of a job.

Sheesh. Cutting off whisky to for the needy.

It doesn’t get any colder and heartless than that.

Why on earth would they cut people off from liquor and wine?

Because drunks probably wouldn't comply with the curfews that are coming? Hoboken, New Jersey has just instituted a 10pm-5am city-wide curfew, and has closed all restaurants and bars

Aside from sales to non-addicted people, liquor stores serve a surprisingly large number of alcoholics with real problems. I’m not sure the smart thing right now is to burden our medical facilities and staff further by antagonizing other medical conditions.

You mean all those 3rd world shit holes and countries with socialised medicine?

Spare me the fallacious argument ...if a cold virus has your name on it you are done for anyway.

Color me confused, what has the sale of alcohol or the imbibing of alcohol got to do with the coronavirus? Is there some dumb-ass at the top of Pennsylvania that thinks the virus is transmitted by drinking Corona beer?

Alcohol is the best over the counter medicine to combat the coronavirus. If you can’t kill the virus, at least you can keep it drunk long enough for it to lose its strength and not do any real harm.

“Corona drinkers of the world unite. You have nothing to lose but your viruses”.

#23. W. Va and Kentucky moonshine can kill anything living. The coronavirus doesn’t stand a chance there or in people who buy their hootch.

This VIRUS is real. It's not a plot. It's not harmless. It's not the flu.

True. It is not nearly as deadly as the regular flu. The US alone loses about 10,000 per MONTH to the regular flu. We are losing about 16 per month to this virus. That's 600-to-1. Maybe we should focus less on the 1 than we usually do to the 600, no?

You might consider some perspective yourself.

That’s Trump’s strongest success. They
destroy that & it’s over.
Moreso induce hatred of Trump by blaming him for the jobs lost & economic ruin.
It’s the only thing they have left.
Expect all manner of evil as the election nears.

I’m in Louisiana. Drinking is our preferred stress release! Stores always open here.
Maybe I could start exporting some to
y’all!?

what has the sale of alcohol or the imbibing of alcohol got to do with the coronavirus?

Removing alcohol will make the citizenry more malleable to quarantine and/or medical isolation.

Thanks for the info. Where I’m at, an eclectic array of stores are allowed to sell hard liquor.

If this isn’t idiocy mixed with paranoid panic, I don’t know what is. Our “leaders” class is replete with weak, emotion-driven nitwits. Also refer to the idiot mayor somewhere banning gun and ammo purchases and another nitwit having a 10 pm to 5 am curfew. What complete idiocy. Who elected these unthinking snowflake losers?
