Here is a fun riddle for you. Which is more obnoxious, a lefty late night host posturing as a politician, or a Democrat politician assuming the role of a lefty late-night host? Unfortunately, the teaser is no longer one of abstract concept but a reality, brought to life by former Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s stint as a fill in host on Thursday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The hosting gig choice was certainly a strange one on the part of Kimmel’s booking staff. Alas for Buttigieg, his anchoring responsibilities were off to a wonky start as he walked out to an almost non-existent audience:
…Now this is a very strange night for us. Not only because this is my first time hosting a talk show -- because we're doing it without a regular studio audience. Due to public health concerns over the coronavirus, we have cancelled the studio audience tonight. A few kind Kimmel staffers and some friends, my husband Chasten, all here instead, we're going to have a great time.
In essence, the only people occupying seats were those that were paid to be there or relationally obligated on the part of close proximity to Mayor Pete. Next he attempted to offer guidance on the virus in the form of a political statement:

Or that he blew it.
Every year around Halloween Kimmel does this: He encourages parents to steal Halloween candy from their children, then film their children crying.
Kimmel then runs the clips of the children crying. Kimmel laughs as the children cry. I’m not exaggerating here. It’s a monstrous thing to do to those little kids. And Kimmel thinks it’s funny.
i.e. Pay for no work. Those who can do their work from home should get paid. Those who can’t work at home or at their place of employment have a choice, either take the chance of not contracting a low percentage disease and go to work or take unpaid vacation based on personal choice (Dems love personal choice).
I see you figured out why they thought he'd be a perfect relacement for Kimmel.

These people are in a silo of groupthink. Remember when Hillary used Lena Dunham as a spokesperson?
You can explain the new Star Wars bombs, Terminator Dark Fate, Birds of Prey, the new woke Dr. Who, Ghostbusters 2016, MIB International, Lady Thor, Captain Marvel, the new James Bond starting out to be a black woman, Kimmel, Colbert, and almost everything else coming out of the entertainment industry on this silo group think, where anyone who isn't "woke" is excluded.
Mayor Pete, like Greta Thunberg, was completely a media creation. The only reason anyone outside of his family members voted for him was a testament to the power of media (still) to create a character out of thin air.

In his one election for Indiana state office, Bootygig got 37%.
Somehow nobody in the MSM ever noticed that.
