President Donald Trump said he did not support the proposed emergency funding bill by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released on Wednesday night to fight the coronavirus.
When asked by reporters if he supported the bill, Trump replied, “No, because there are things that are in there that have nothing to do with what we are talking about.”
Pelosi and House Democrats rushed to release a bill on Wednesday night at 11:00 p.m. that was about 124 pages long. The bill did not address issues that the president asked for, including a payroll tax cut. But Trump indicated that Democrats were using the crisis to push through partisan proposals.
“It’s not a way for them to get some of the goodies that they haven’t been able to get for the past 25 years,” Trump said.
Speaker Pelosi said Thursday during a press conference that it was imperative to get a bill passed as soon as possible to help American families suffering the economic disruption
But negotiations continue, as Pelosi said that she was continuing to speak to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.
She noted that the White House requests for changes to the bill were “all very reasonable.”
Trump said he would remain at the White House as the fight against the spread of coronavirus continued.
“I want to be here,” he said.

Trump, and other Republicans, need to pull out the pork and hold it up to the American people and say: “This is what Pelosi wants passed, and it has NOTHING to do with you or your families. It’s just Pelosi paying off her cronies for getting her votes...period!”

Whenever there is a military related bill, and our troops are in a conflict, it is 100% that the left is going to try to add things on.
Sometimes, they add a “poison pill” to a bill because they don’t want it passed at all, and if it does get passed with their “poison pill” they get something out of it.
I know the Republicans do it too, but I sure do despise the Left in their use of this tactic.
i’m not a fan of the payroll tax cut, but I understand that the reason they propose it is we can enact it immediately, and immediately stop taking money from paychecks and businesses, so it is the easiest way to distribute little bits of money to everybody.
There are a lot of great ideas, but most of them are a nightmare to implement.
One thing DNC-media not planned for...how much will all the “hype buying” will spur the economy? More demand on supply means more profit for biz. Went to get some items last night and shelves were wiped out all over the store. Wally-World must be RAKING it in!
Never let a crisis go to waste, always use it to advance the agenda.
