These x-ray images show the damage that coronavirus is doing to the lungs of people who catch the potentially deadly bug.
Doctors have been able to identify specific abnormalities caused by Covid-19 and the patterns are similar to those found in patients from the SARS and MERS outbreaks.
The scans show patches in the lungs and the experts' findings could lead to a quicker diagnosis and help to prevent infections.
The first British person to catch the flu-like illness had previously told how it hit him "like a train" and left him "suffocating" and in blinding pain for weeks.

That is what I am interested in
Recovery?. With lifelong lung damage?
for people who has advanced to the point where you see white on the x-ray, they are damaged lung cells caused by Pulmonary fibrosis, is a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred. This thickened, stiff tissue makes it more difficult for your lungs to work properly.
so with normal pneumonia, you see spots of white, with Wuhan pneumonia, it attacks both lungs completely.
If you’re lucky to survive at that point, it takes a long time to heal.
Dont be such a worry wart, its just the flu! /s

probably similar to sars lung recovery, well coronavirus is a kind of sars
Its still to early to calculate the life expectancy of the recovered.
FWIW: from 2009:
‘Alarming’ mental problems seen in SARS survivors
One of the most concerning things about this thing is doctors telling how quickly it can escalate in even just one day; a patient can just start to show symptoms and be dead only hours later.
This article is from the “Mirror.” Give me a break.
Rummy chick..... are you trying to scare people?
In an auto accident that can happen even faster than that. It’s also more likely to happen to everyone of us.
No, it is pinpointing the exact question I have been asking all along. It doesn’t matter where the story comes from. It is providing XRAYS
I am sure you understand there ARE people here who know about such things.
ARDS is quite serious and looks scary. It occurs in many illnesses not just COVID. Yes it is possible to recover entirely
In an auto accident that can happen even faster than that. It’s also more likely to happen to everyone of us.
Yes there are. But people would rather fear monger than listen to them
I wonder if some of that has to do with low levels of oxygen that take place during the illness
The brain is such a complex and tricky thing that still has many mysteries that experts don’t understand..and maybe never will
I cant listen to anyone who relies so heavily on the CDC for information before they will consider alternative situations that are taking place.
Just not going to happen,
“a patient can just start to show symptoms and be dead only hours later.”
According to the attendants in the Kirkland, WA nursing home that is exactly what happened.
Well, duh - the nature of a car wreck is that it happens in an instant.
Not so with disease and illness.
If you need help in telling the difference between apples and oranges at the supermarket, just ask at the counter. Good luck with that.
Perhaps someone will post the X-Rays together with other recent strains of respiratory viruses so that there will be some meaningful information included instead of more mindless fearmongering with no measurable intellectual context presented.
this would be a concern if you were elderly.
However, again I say, that I witnessed a healthy young teenager go into a coma pretty darn quick due to sepsis/flu (presumed...diagnosed by General Practioner..no autopsy done) /pneumonia.
But it wasn’t hours from start of symptom to death.
