Do you think he’s gonna delay it to Nov. 1? To have people riled about taxes just before the election?

I do.

How does this help anything? I cannot believe how silly and irrational this whole thing has become.

Bad news if you work for H&R Block.

Think so? I would think they'd be glad to have the workload spread out.

Agreed. A lot of these actions surrounding CV are now taking on the aspect of virtue signaling.

Only for awhile - the government will be back to wanting your money again, as soon as it possibly can. It always does.

How does this help anything?

I'll tell you how it helps - lots of people owe BOTH Federal and State taxes, April 15 - I still haven't gotten my deductions right since the new tax law went into affect.

So I can focus on paying the little I still owe to state April 15, and save up to pay Federal on November 1. If that gives every family $1000 to spend now and plan to pay it later in the year, that does help the economy. It's like a 'no interest loan' ...

Actually it will take some of the stress off. April and March are super high stress months for Block. With businesses having more people telecommute there may not be office personnel to get the tax/finance into together.

Eases stress for everyone from those who are missing work and are not getting paid, thus no money for taxes, to the small business owners themselves. Dems can fume.

Most people who do tax prep for a living work like dogs till 4/15 and then take extended vacations. No vacation this year.
