I like your thinking Laz!

I like to think, I think outside the box.

Wait, no, I don't.

That very first patient got an experimental drug.

They were literally at deaths door prior to getting that drug.

Had they not gotten that drug they might have been in the ICU for weeks longer or even died.

That first patient was a healthy 35yr old non smoker.

But we won’t hear a peep about how most patients recover.

Oh but we would if the president was a Democrat. The news is clearly “shaped” depending on who is president.

Republicans never push back with the truth, facts, and counterpoints so there’s no reason for the media to make any effort to be in the least bit objective. Its pure propaganda 24X7.

“It kills between 10 and 50 times as many as the flu.”

I say BS to that. There is simply no way to know the kill rate of this virus until it is about finished spreading and we see how many are confirmed to have died compared to how many we know caught the bug. Even then the number is a guess since literally 100,s of 1000’s probably caught this and were either asymptomatic or had a very minimal “common cold” sort of response.

Pure manufactured panic and you and others swallow it hook line and sinker.

Diabetic heart patients and overweight smokers die a lot more from this virus.

I'm screwed.

Why can so many of you not even do a simple Google search or run basic math?

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

We already have pretty good data on # “confirmed” infected, though the # actually infected is likely to be orders of magnitude higher.

We also have good data on fatalities, although I’m sure not “every” fatality has been reported or recorded.

Using the numbers easily searched, we’re currently at a 3.6% death rate worldwide.

The flu kills (on average), 0.1% of people yearly.

Ergo, CV-19 is 36X more deadly than the flu using currently reported numbers.

I am well past 70 and do not get a flu shot. Not for any particular reason, I just haven’t bothered. I have not had as much as the sniffles in probably 15 yrs and currently take zero medications.

At some point I will die and I accept that. There is way to much contradictory information about this virus out there for me to be anything but pissed off at what I see as a DELIBERATE attempt to spread fear and panic.

This is politics, all of it.

Deo volente is omitting more than disclosing, and this mirrors what the fake news is doing.

Almost everyone recovers from the corona infection. Elderly with prior health complications are not so fortunate but then they are not strong enough to overcome other infections as well.

There is no doubt there is a political agenda here and that in and of itself is criminal.

Vaccines are not necessary. In fact, the vaccine industry should be suspended, investigated, and indicted.

Good information is what’s needed but such information is not reported by fake news. Do not listen to any news outlet. Listen instead to credible individuals like Paul Sperry for example.

Here is useful information:

1. Osha Root Tincture - Known Use: Used to treat bacterial and viral respiratory infections including the flu, colds, sinus infection, H1N1 Influenza A, pneumonia, bronchitis, sore throat, cough

2. Oscillococcinum (take as soon as symptoms appear; provides immediate relief)

3. Bleach, of course

4. Colloidal Silver (take as soon as symptoms appear)

5. Sodium Ascorbate (salt form of Vit C, much better absorbed)

The above list is not posted for those in a panic. These items are good to stock regardless of the current “we’re all going to die” group think hysteria.

Stock up on the above, find on Amazon and order asap.

Educate yourself to a real scientist who retains genuine, principled, scientific ethics.

Do your duty and make the above list go viral.

Thanks you for the informed comments.

The media in this country is driven by profits and politics; it hypes and sensationalizes everything. This virus was tailor made for them and they are exploiting it to the max.

"Limiting the spread helps flatten the peak of this wave."

Exactly. What harm is there suspending certain activities in order to force the curve to plateau? What is the real economic impact of short-term suppressed commerce vs long-term foundational impacts? Especially when inherent demand is unchanged?

That is, the traditional business cycle is typified by too many companies offering too many products with too much capital chasing too few returns. The top is reached, losses are incurred, and the ripple-through effects drive capital flight and (stock) price drops. If the end result is that everyone feels poorer and stops spending, then we muddle through a recession until the next wave of demand/innovation.

However, in this case, that "top" was never reached. As Trump says, we've only begun to see the improved economic impacts of reversing decades of poor trade deals. So, if everything is still humming, a 4-8-12 week hiatus does nothing, other than strain cash reserves. Since the Fed and .gov are on board extend liquidity, it's simply a time game.

The issue isn't whether the spread/growth of corona can be stopped, it's "what's the cost?" And the answer is the same as during the Cold war: no cost is too high. So, shut down the country, everyone can go for a hike, and then when a top is reached and testing/handling facilities are ready, let the games resume.

Pneumonia not a nice way to go. If your doc recommends it, get the flu shot. You’ll increase your odds of living long enough to succumb to something a lot less unpleasant. :-)

I am actually quite good at math. You or anyone else hasn’t the first clue how many are infected with this virus and without THAT # there is NO WAY to even begin to have an accurate number for the kill rate.

Your 3.6% death rate is based on the number of KNOWN cases of this virus but what if that number of known cases is 10 or 100 times higher? If it is 10 times higher the death rate becomes .36% and if it is 100 times higher the rate becomes .036%.

We will not have the first clue of how many contracted this virus until it is finished and even then we will NEVER know how many caught this virus and never knew it and never was tested for it.

Your 3.6% fatality number is 100% bogus.
