Trump endorses ex-Auburn coach Tuberville over Jeff Sessions in Alabama Senate race

President Donald Trump endorsed former Auburn Football coach Tommy Tuberville over his former attorney general, Jeff Sessions, in a tight Alabama Senate primary runoff this month.

The president cited Tuberville’s football prowess in his backing Tuesday over Sessions, who served in the Senate for 20 years between 1997 and 2017 before Trump’s administration.

“Tommy was a terrific head football coach at Auburn University. He is a REAL LEADER who will never let MAGA/KAG, or our Country, down! Tommy will protect your Second Amendment,” Trump tweeted.

“He will be a great Senator for the people of Alabama. Coach Tommy Tuberville, a winner, has my Complete and Total Endorsement. I love Alabama.

The endorsement is expected to be a blow to Sessions as the two candidates have each raced to pitch themselves as most aligned with the president.

Yeah, another death blow to the QAnon scammers.

“Tuberville may not be on our side when it comes to amnesty...”

Yeah, that is gaslighting BS from Breitbart & Co. POTUS has spoken.

Let’s go Tuberville! Go Alabama!

I thought Trump was only pretending to intensely dislike Sessions? Nope, turns out he really doesn’t trust Sessions.

Yup, the Opposite Game, turned out not to be a thing.

Who'd thunk it?

Q says: “Trust Sessions”

oh wait, now it’s: “Trust Trump’s Plan”

I’m just so confused; now I don’t know which Q to trust ...

There is no “but who would have.” Jeff Sessions single-handedly destroyed Trump’s first term.

The other problem is there aren’t any good MAGA candidates to endorse!

I don’t think Trump was ever backing Sessions. He does, however, sometimes have a silly way of waiting to see if a frontrunner emerges in a primary battle, then endorsing him just so he can always be on the winning side.

Actually, the "Trust Sessions" slogan was correct.

Sessions told us he was recused from it all, and HE REALLY WAS!

A Sessions defeat would send a strong signal to the GOPe that there is a price to be paid for aiding and abetting the ongoing coup against POTUS. You can bet the other GOP Senators will take note and think twice before enabling the coup again.

A republican needs to regain the seat in Alabama to hold serve when a democrat beats the hell out of the worthless RINO Thom Tillis in NC.

I’m no fan of Sessions but the idea that he “destroyed” Trump’s first term is comical. I’d say Trump has accomplished damn near everything he was capable of doing within his power as the President. Any major failures from his first term can be laid squarely at the feet of the feckless Republicans in Congress who had no interest in supporting his agenda.

So, I perused the entire thread. Groothewanderer makes a single statement that the man is a Chamber of Commerce stooge.
Groo offered not a single fact to back up that statement. Just the accusation. No one else on the thread backed his statement up.
In fact, others questioned him with no response. Conclusion, a likely Sessions operative.

Does this sound open borders to you?

https://yellowhammernews.com/tuberville-warns-of-immigration-threat-in-speech-to-north-alabama-republicans-folks-theyre-taking-over-and-if-we-dont-open-our-eyes-it-is-going-to-be-over-with/

Tuberville explained why he backed Trump’s threat to levy tariffs on Mexico over its lackadaisical effort to secure its borders, which some say has contributed to the crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border. However, he also warned it was not just migration from Latin America, but other parts of the globe.

“I’m 100% free trade, but sooner or later he’s got to have something to close that border – something,” Tuberville said. “I coached in Texas four years. I’ve been on the border at least 12 times. I’ve got buddies that work on the Border Patrol. I’ve got buddies that travel with me at the border one week every two months, and they’re Texas Rangers.”

Immigration & Border Security

It’s Simple — A Secure Border Means a More Secure Nation

We must first secure our border as we attempt real immigration reforms that will impact our nation for decades to come. I fully support President Trump’s plan to build a wall and make our nation more secure.
