The Rooskies are trying to burn up some of their excess petroleum?
Testing..........................
Let’s play chicken. As long as it’s over American territory. DOD can say it crashed.
Yep, pressing their nose against the fence.
This is a nothing story. The Russians have been doing this for decades and we do the same thing to Russia and many other countries.
“NORAD said the Russian aircraft remained in international airspace over the Beaufort Sea and came as close as 50 nautical miles to the coast but did not enter U.S. or Canadian airspace.”
So the headline is a lie?
A couple of Bear Foxtrot’s trolling.
Looking to see the reaction. Is it consistent with the previous pattern?
SOP. Nothing unusual.
This could be one of those GIECO commercials.
Russians probing US air defenses? It’s what they do.
The USS Pueblo was in international waters. Ok-so it was a spy ship. Where was the backup protection? Same as the Beirut bombing. Stuff the GI’s in a hotel with unarmed guards and no barricades to prevent explosive-filled vehicles from charging it. Do those in charge make u feel safe?
The “I WANT HAVE PUTIN’S BABY” crowd will be along soon.
Actually I think we do stay 200 miles off their coast. It would be a major International incident and hardly worth it since we have reconnaissance capabilities which do not require being directly over the target.
Hit the fence with a 2x4...........................
Those incidents you named were decades ago and I promise you security measures have advanced by light years.
Survival kit contents check. In them you’ll find: one .45-caliber automatic, two boxes ammunition, four days’ concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination “Rooshin” phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, three pair of nylon stockings... Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff! Pickens actually said “... have a pretty good weekend in Dallas with all that stuff.”
They were just checking out Sarah Palins house.
No, it wasn’t over Alaska, or in any US airspace. The Air Defense ID zone is not “our” airspace. It is simply an international zone where if we see something, we go look and see what it is.
Boys being boys. It’s all fun and games until someone instigates a nuclear war. : )
