Youse guys need a second person plural pronoun. “Youse” is taken by Nyawkahs. So is “yez.” “Y’all” is all that’s left. Blacks use it. Is it like the “N” word now, exclusive property of bros? The Bros learned it from the good ol’ boys, just like the “N” word. But it serves a legitimate linguistic purpose, that of a second person plural pronoun for southerners, including blacks with southern roots. While the “N” word is just a pejorative term, like “Spick,” “Kike,” “Wop,” “Chink” and “Mick”.

Out West we say “you guys.” We had moved to the South when sis and I were in high school. We would say to our friends things like, “Come on you guys, lets go.” They looked perplexed and said they weren't guys, why did we call them that. So we adopted the y'all term.
