CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp tells me he interacted with attendee who has tested positive for coronavirus. While the timeline is unknown, Schlapp shook Trump’s hand on stage the last day of the conference.
There may be nastier strains of Covid 19 evolving in Italy than those in the rest of the world.
I guess we know the guys identity now, dont we?
Knowing POTUS, he probably washed his hands immediately afterwards.
And Trump is a major germaphobe who uses hand sanitizer constantly.
In this case, it would prove to be prudent
Trump shoke hands with one and so did pence. Travellers and big gatherings. Seems like everyone is one step removed. 5 monkeyish.
Viruses may be part of the Creation, but I'm of the opinion that they will tend to degrade with successive mutations, not become more capable. I suspect the deadly Wuhan strain reached Italy and Iran with little degradation, and are worse there than many other places.
I've read the Washington State strain is only a little changed, and is pretty bad there, but not to the point of hearing about people dropping dead in their tracks, like birds falling out of the sky dead in mid-flight from bird-flu. Such horrors were rumored from Wuhan early on. With time it will mutate (I've read that, on average, every two weeks there is a functional change in the DNA of a given region's strain), and those mutations will either be of no consequence (the usual case) or, thankfully, will be a functional change that is pretty much always a degradation of its virulence.
I'm hopeful that if this virus is a creation that escaped from some lab experiment (man-made), it will degrade even more quickly. Maybe that's the source of some peoples' optimism that this whole disaster will soon pass.
I am interested in that Biogen Conference. Seems like someone was a Super Spreader there.
So far we know several people got it from that conference. Then it moved to Indiana
It came from a Pakistani who refused to quarantine
So yep...maybe something went on there
If that were true, viruses would be extinct long ago.
This can’t be true because this virus is not even dangerous. /sarc
If by that, you mean the jerk who was a lawyer in New Rochelle, who infected his family, his law firm, his kid's school, and untold people at a social religious event, the answer is "No, we don't." This guy lives in Brooklyn and is in his 30's. The other guy lives in New Rochelle and is in his 50's.
The article said they dont know his identity, but to please pray for Yosef Ben Esther. So he was inadvertently outed. This is apparently the younger guy.
