Saul Alinsky may have written his Rules for Radicals to give leftists an advantage in the battle for Americas soul, but that doesnt mean that the rules arent tactically wise. On Friday, Gun Owners of America (GOA) decided to put into play several of those rules when it asked to have Sen. Chuck Schumer red-flagged as a potentially dangerous person.
GOAs request focuses on the fact that, on Wednesday, while speaking to protesters at a Planned Parenthood rally outside of the Supreme Court, Schumer sent a direct message to Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh:
I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You wont know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.
Schumer claimed, of course, that the words werent a threat and that he never intended them to be. Speaking on the Senate floor, he explained that they were just the way Brooklyners talk and, in any event, it was all the Republicans fault that anyone got upset:
Of course, I didnt intend to suggest anything other than political and public opinion consequences for the Supreme Court, and it is a gross distortion to imply otherwise. Im from Brooklyn. We speak in strong language. I shouldnt have used the words I did, but in no way was I making a threat. I never, never would do such a thing, and Leader McConnell knows that. And Republicans who were busy manufacturing outrage over these comments know that, too.

Sounds good, but GOA is about to find out the actual end game of red flag laws, and it has nothing to do with enforcement against leftists.

Real question: is this an example of GOA being more proactive in advancing gun rights than the NRA? More confrontational when necessary?

We should not just do this to a sitting senator. We should do the same to all of our leftist and hateful neighbors, “friends” and family members.
If they want their leftist legislators to create horrible laws, we should absolutely use those laws against them and let them suffer the consequences.

Chuck 666 ways to Sunday keeps issuing threats. Can we put a fatwa on him. Nothing is working. Division of power? Heck no. The divisions of the powerful over the citizens is very effective though.
Not many on this planet have experienced what we have experienced. The lack of similar Bill of Rights in other countries is problematic.
