A New Jersey gun owner is fighting charges for carrying a firearm for which he had a permit and ammunition state police have publicly said is legal.
Roosevelt Twyne, a 25-year-old African-American security guard, was arrested by Roselle Park Police in February after a traffic stop stemming from tinted windows on his car. Evan Nappen, Twyne's attorney, told the Washington Free Beacon that his client was then erroneously charged for illegally carrying a firearm and being in possession of so-called hollow point ammunition.
"He was arrested for the hollow point ammunition," Nappen told the Free Beacon. "Then they claimed he was transporting his handgun illegally. He had a permit to carry a handgun.

Headline? Was the gun black or the owner black?
Probably both. Double jeopardy. Or, intersectional prejudice. Your choice.
Abuse of power. This is why gun owners oppose gun control plain and simple.
A 2A lawyer I know once commented on something like this. He said that cops in New York City, Baltimore, and D.C. (especially) will arrest you on a gun charge even when they know the charge is bogus.
And the judge will hold you even though he knows the charge is bogus.
If any other civil right was violated so casually the ACLU would be filing objections all over the place.
Breaking: NAACP, Black Lives Matter, Congressional Black Caucus, Rainbow Push, Urban League to issue a statement:
Completely law abiding...except violating the window tinting rules... (I hope he uses some of the money raised to get the coating removed from his windows.)
And I’ll make a bet that when he shows up to court, the DA will have already recalled the charges.
And the security company who provided the ammo should probably smartly give him paid time off as you know this lawyer will be going after them next. Best to just get ahead of it and send out the check now. And file a claim with the city for that payment.
He had a permit to carry a handgun.
Connected dude
only 1200 people outside law enforcement have permits to carry a handgun
What Judge Taney wrote in his Dred Scott vs Sanford.
Buried deep within it is this statement.
Are Negros citizens? Dred Scott vs Sanford
“It would give to persons of the negro race, who are recognized as citizens in any one state of the Union, the right to enter every other state, whenever they pleased.... and it would give them full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might meet; to hold public meetings upon political affairs, and to KEEP AND CARRY ARMS wherever they went.”
Stay away FRom New Jersey!
If all is as said and appears nothing to through anything into suspicion, why has the prosecutor not dropped the charges? Maybe it is race. Trump should as AG Barr it initiate a civil rights investigation.

Read article. At least through the second sentence.
Sling shots are illegal in New Jersey. I find it shocking that someone could get a permit to carry a pistol.
Was this just an excuse to stop him? Or to provide cover for stopping him?
I think the police need to be investigated here, maybe they deserve firing and prosecution? And same for the prosecutor that is letting what seems to be obviously false charges go forward.
Drop the charges and apologize, then pay his lawyers for their time.
Security guard isn’t leo
There is no mention that he was actually charged for the window tint. He was arrested for the “hollow point bullets” that weren’t, and for supposedly illegally transporting the licensed firearm.
I’ve dropped a fiver on his legal defense fund.

What very few people knew at the time, including myself and most of law enforcement, was that Michigan was an open carry state and had been for almost forever..........That didn't come to light until a 2nd Amend activist started parading around streets with his AR-15 and a holstered handgun.....
Or DC - a veteran was stopped for some traffic infraction and his car searched. A 12ga shotgun shell (one) was found rolling around in the trunk; he was arrested for have unlicensed ammo.
They can stop you for window tint
Plus I bet his gun permit doesn’t allow him to carry it in the car that is why he got charge, wouldn’t be the first time that happened in Jersey
