DENVER -- Colorado has joined four other states in banning natural hair discrimination after Gov. Jared Polis signed the CROWN Act into law Friday evening.

The governor signed House Bill 1048 at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, a studio and performing arts school based in African-American traditions.

California was the first pass a law banning this type of discrimination as part of the CROWN — Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair — movement, a coalition co-founded by Dove and other organizations to end this type of discrimination.Rep. Leslie Herod and her co-sponsors brought forward the bill because of examples of children getting bullied and suspended from school as well as workplace discrimination and harassment.

The bill references protection from discrimination against natural hair, commonly experienced by people who are black, Jewish, Latinx or of Native American descent. It would apply to public education, employment practices, housing, public accommodations and advertising.

I suppose there’s a provision allowing trial attorneys to sue for damages.

“Civil Rights” legislation destroyed the foundations of freedom and Equal Protection Under the Law in this nation.

"What the heck is happening to my state?"

The Colorado voters confused flushing the toilet and instead elected the Demonicrat floaters to state offices.

The state was targeted by the DNC for takeover. It worked.

One hundred years from now, historians will look back at these last 30 years and marvel at the mass delusions foisted upon Western society by academia and the mass media.

See my previous post. If you haven’t read that, or his book, you probably should.

You are right about that! On Super Tuesday Bernie won big here. Cory Gardner is in trouble, and we have freaking Jared Polis as our governor. I feel like I am living in an alternative universe.

This bill seems to be discriminating against professionalism and hygiene.

This is a joke, right?

So, if my hair is white, I don't have to dye it anymore?

If someone says something, I can sue them?

Colorado has so many problems, yet, THIS is a priority?

Pathetic.

Here in the Colorado mountain towns we have a good amount of dreadlocked people in the service industry. Without exception, I can smell their nasty hair up to ten feet away! Blechhhh...

There is more than one way to discriminate. If you own a business and want to present a certain image to the public, or if you just want to be around people you feel comfortable, then go right ahead and find reason to associate with people you want. You have a constitutional right to associate, and to associate you must disassociate. Too bad the courts don’t recognize this any longer, but tough schiff. Find a reason to disassociate, it just can’t be hair and a growing list of other things.

What about no hair discrimination? I’m outraged they didn’t include me. I’m a victim.
