...While Amash would obviously have no chance to win the presidency if he ran as a Libertarian, he could theoretically peel off voters from Trump in the battleground state of Michigan, which may be the ulterior motive behind his potential run...

He won’t peel off any Trump support.
The Green Party, though, hasn’t had remotely as much of an impact at depriving the Dems of wins as the GOP has. The only prominent races I recall where they clearly aided the GOP was back in the ‘90s, in the 1994 NM Governor race and later in NM-3 when Bill Richardson resigned his Dem seat and a Republican won with a plurality. Dems might also cite Ralph Nader in 2000, but Nader could just as easily run as an Independent and had the same impact.
Same for my former weasel, Eric Cantor.
He wants somebody to fall on their knees and beg him to run.
Keep waiting then.
No...the democrats still haven’t even got their nominee yet.
Those Republican candidates bear their share of the blame when they support unconstitutional and unpopular nonsense like the War on Pot.
Cannon Fodder
Grist for the mill
True. Even for Michigan, the Wolverine State.
I am no longer in doubt that my posts against Libertarians on the ballot this year were right, despite my respect for the FReepers who are of that persuasion.
Every time they say "If the 4,100 or the 1,900 or 6,700 votes for the Libertarian had been for the GOP then Trump would have won the state" I get frustrated. Lots of tiny margins (under 11,000 votes in MI) for PA,OH,WI and more may be on the way and we need every vote.
No longer tolerant. TRUMP HAS TO WIN.
Forget the symbolic, statement votes until a time when the entire Republic isn't in danger of slilpping into the quicksand of Communism. As 2020.
Those Republican candidates bear their share of the blame when they support unconstitutional and unpopular nonsense like the War on Pot.

I hear you. And those same Republican candidates are to blame for opposing open borders.
When did conservatives ever fund the Green Weenies?
No longer tolerant. TRUMP HAS TO WIN.

Yep... and he needs supporting Republicans to win seats in the House of Representatives. Trump will NEED the House to be under (non-Paul Ryan type) Republican control for his second term.
If they oppose due process, they also oppose the rest of the Constitution.
Trump is going to mop the floor with these idiots.
Its the smart thing to do.
Nader
Republicans fund Greens.
Democrats fund Libertarians.
Don’t matter
The LP Party doesn’t matter
They are a vanity party and that is it
Nobody voting for LP was going to vote for Trump or the ‘Rat
The whole illusion of LP Party hurting the rep or dem is just that, an illusion
Just like the green party
Trump is a strong candidate and I don’t see anyone who was going to vote Trump say hey, I like this Amash guy better so I will vote for him instead.
Sorry, Nader was a Independent, not a Green Weenie.
You said.
Amash is a selfish self centered prick
And in 2000 he was the nominee of the Green Party
I have also signed Conservative Party petitions to do the same. My uncle, who is on the local GOP committee, was confounded that I would do that, but in Illinois, the GOPE is, well, E.
