If youve ever wondered why it is impossible to have a conversation with modern liberals about politics, this video snippet is a case study in the answer.
MSNBC host Brian Williams and New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay are having a serious discussion about money, politics and Michael Bloombergs spending in the primary election. You have to watch it to believe it.
Think about how many people were involved in creating, preparing and producing what you are about to witness. WATCH:

Jaw-dropping idiocy from MSNBC News anchor and NYT editorial board member
By Thomas Lifson
The degraded state of the American mainstream media was in full view last night on MSNBCs The Eleventh Hour, hosted by serial fabulist Brian Williams. Tucker Carlson of Fox News often makes snide remarks about the sheer stupidity of the talking heads that populate cable news, and since he has spent decades working in the business, with a resume that that includes stints at MSNBC and CNN, he may well know whereof he speaks.
But after all, Americans expect vapidity form the TV news readers. Think Ron Burgundy.
However, the New York Times still retains vestiges of its former prestige, even as it has become nothing but a propaganda organ dedicated to the destruction of the Trump presidency. Its editorial employees are expected to be able to compose grammatical sentences, and the members of its editorial board formerly were regarded as thought and opinion leaders for the entire profession of journalism.
No longer.
Anyone who passed primary school math should be able to spot the mind-blowing innumeracy as host Williams and his guest Mara Gay of the New York Times editorial board discussed a tweet from Mekita Rivas, a writer who is a contributor to the feminist journal Bustle. The tweet maintained, “Bloomberg spent $500 million on ads. The U.S. Population, 327 million. He could have given each American $1 million and have had lunch money left over.”
“Its an incredible way of putting it,” Williams said.
“Its an incredible way of putting it,” Gay said. “Its true. Its disturbing.”
I dont mean to insult readers intelligence by pointing out that the math actually works out to a buck fifty-three per person, so theyre all only off by a factor of less than a million.
But keep in mind the number of people at MSNBC that uncritically accepted the tweet and decided that it was worth featuring on the show. Producers, graphic artists, production assistants, and other members of the staff all accepted it, and so did Williams and the person that the New York Times believes is sufficiently intelligent as to be given the honor of shaping public opinion in the name of the Gray Lady.
I know that it is hard to believe, so watch this clip and bemoan the state of elite journalism.

To be fair, Williams pointed out the math error, but then Gay, just went on without directly addressing it... about how much money was in politics etc, without addressing the original posts claim was off by 7 decimal places.
Wanna to get rich? Ask Brian Williams for two $10s for a $5, over and over.
Elmira NY use to be a great smaller city....now not so much. Last time I drove thru there I couldn’t beieve how run down it had become. Aout 40 minutes from my home town we use to go there and saw it as going to the BIG City! HA!

Bloomberg could give every US Citizen a million dollar check and have money left over.
It could happen, if he were to give the same check to each one of them in turn, tax it away, and then repeat. It’s the Democrat way.
The MSM should have to cut every one of us a $1M check just for having to put up with their collective stupidity.
lol
_____________
lol
You bad.
Freakin new math..
I settle for my check for $1.27. I will frame it on my office wall.
.......but shouldnt Bloomberg include the 150,000,000 Americans killed by guns? Shouldnt they get some walkin around money? Thats the only fair thing to do for them, they cant help the fact that they all got shot.

National Review editor Charles C. W. Cooke wrote that the math is obviously spectacularly off but so its also very telling.
This, right here, is why so many left-leaning Americans think that the billionaires can pay for everything. Its why Elizabeth Warren was enthusiastically boosted by the media despite her ridiculous pretense that she could pay for a series of gargantuan initiatives without raising taxes on anyone but the extremely rich, Cooke wrote.
Its why Democrat after Democrat promises not to raise middle class taxes while promising programs that require the raising of middle class taxes. How did this bad tweet make it onto TV to be endorsed? Why did Mara Gay agree with it? Why didnt Brian Williams notice? Because the people involved in this clip thought it was true. This is how they see the world.
