Josh Hawley To Introduce Motion To Censure Shumer For SCOTUS ‘Intimidation’

Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley plans to introduce a Senate motion to censure Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for attempting to intimidate Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

Schumer told attendees at a Wednesday pro-choice rally in front of the Supreme Court that the two justices would “pay the price” if they ruled incorrectly in an upcoming abortion-related case.

“I want to tell you Gorsuch and I want to tell you Kavanaugh,” he told the crowd. “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Schumer’s threat was not “empty”. I truly believe he hopes that it will encourage/motivate some deranged leftist(s) to take DIRECT ACTION.

According to senate.gov, censure requires a majority. There have been 10 censures of senators in US history. Consequences include giving up committee chairmanship.

Most unlikely Schumer will be censured.

No apologies accepted...this CANNOT be undone. His sycophants CHEERED his remarks and would have no qualms about putting his words into action. Toss him out, strip him of his seat and his license then bring federal charges. He should be made an example of otherwise they will be emboldened to do far more than words resulting in injury or worse.

What makes this sound like an unequivocal threat is that everyone knows USSC justices are appointed for life. They can't be, say, defeated in the next election, or refused a renewal of their appointment. It's for life. So . . . what's left other than physical harm or killing?

Maybe harassing them out of this season's "it" restaurant?

I sincerely hope that any censure is formatted on at least #28 - #32 lb paper, or else this effort clearly lacks the gravitas an august body, such as the US Senate is entrusted to mete out, in the form of... The People’s Justice.
