WASHINGTON — A medical professional who conducted passenger screenings at Los Angeles International Airport tested positive for the coronavirus late Tuesday , according to the Department of Homeland Security and an internal email obtained by NBC News.
The person last worked screening air travelers for illness on Feb. 21, DHS said in a statement, which also said the medical professional had worn the proper protective gear while working. The internal email described the person as a "contract medical screener" for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It would be easy to infect yourself while taking off the equipment.

She is the one that went to Kaiser West LA on Sunday to be tested..she did right, not exposing anyone else(Kaiser West LA is the Kaiser I belong to) but how did she get the virus if she took every precaution, no one else that works with her caught it, only her
“contract medical screener”.........

She’s described as a Medical Professional.
I wonder if she works anywhere else.
I actually expected something like this. Medical professionals spreading it before they realize they’ve been affected.
There was a Japanese Doctor that worked 3 days seeing patients after coming down with a fever.
Back when we had floppy disks the computer security team came around with a floppy with an anti-virus program to check everyone’s machine for viruses. But they hadn’t protected the floppy, and they were actually spreading the virus to everyone they checked.
This bug is all over.
And it is an easy spreader.
Make sense. If you’re an airport or airliner, you wouldn’t hire someone permanently for a ‘medical screener’ position you hope is only temporary.
I will say OK if it is a health department employee.
I say no if it is a want ad.
Yeah, I wish all the states and metropolitan areas were releasing testing data. How many tests?
It’s apparently been spreading for 6 weeks based on the Seattle situation. But where has it spread?

Yep. Which is why it’s procedure for ANOTHER person wearing protective gear to remove your possibly contaminated protective gear and dispose of it.
It was probably contracted through an agency that ran a want ad.
Since she was described as a “medical professional”, my guess is that they asked for some level of knowledge, maybe a LPN or an CNT.
Very easy, indeed. It’s not like they have a BSL-4 decon chamber and airlock where they can take off the gear and stand naked while getting hosed down with disinfectant.
Our daughter’s boyfriend bought a lot of disposable latex gloves and I have the same exact concern. How do you touch products at the store, checkout, door handles, etc with gloved hands, get in your car, take gloves off and dispose of them? Then how do you carry in the possibly contaminated food bags and contents? It just does not seem practical.
Maybe they should install cattle dips for people to swim through.
Who removes it from the last guy standing?

Take food into the room..and have a porta potty...
Are they checking them for bulging veins, cause that’s the first sign. /Obscure
