There is nothing temporary about H-1B’s and there are too many of them here.
You’re right, we shouldn’t regulate.
Cancel this H1B BULLSH.T and there will be nothing to regulate.
In the old days more than a few “free market” b.tches would show up here to support H1B.
I wonder if there are any still on this site.
What you said
the H1-B (and H2-B) visa programs (legacy of poppy bush) are scams and should be ended...
[Businesses are complaining about visa denials and delays in approvals.]
You know what would be crazy? Hiring American workers.
Sorry, just like to trigger the NWO folks.
(ping to BM because he understands)
Its total bullshit to let a business fire an American worker so they can get a cheaper H1B. You used to have to demonstrate that you couldnt find an American first.
And at the same time the government/ tech complex does this, they tell American kids to go into STEM.
I refuse to believe that this company can't find citizens/Green Card holders to fill their positions.Of course they'd have to pay twice...or three times...as much as they pay the Indians.
Try being a mid-50s male looking for a job.
Oh, I know, FRiend...all too well.
A promise that Trump did not keep.
Amen.
My ass.
What we found out they were doing was getting all of the senior staff immunized, decontaminated, and postage stamped to go to MUMBAI to train their replacements as a condition of their severance. Well, being contractors who were hired 90 day-to-perm, we were not only lied to, we were two feet lower than whale shit in the oceanic pecking order. We were there to get thrown to the wolves and learn the senior staff's jobs while they had to endure the humiliation of having to go to a part of the planet that has open sewers running in the streets to train the person who was going to render them unemployed. The company's stance toward us?: You're lucky. You'll be the last ones fired.
Ah, but karma can hit you in the face like an eighteen pound sledge. I found a new roost to perch on after it became open news, and the day I quit, I found out the whole gaggle of recruits in India quit en masse to literally walk arcoss the street to another company and train for a paltry 25 cents an hour more. The whole thing got scuttled. Square One. Schadenfreude never tasted so sweet.
Here in Atlanta we have whole subdivisions of Indians. All tech workers. There are thousands of them.
While President Trump was in India working on trade he came under a lot of pressure by India to relax H1-B visa restrictions the president has put in place as a component of the trade talks.
President Trump rejected that and stated that visas are not a part of trade talks.
GOOD!!!
Those ####s.
What a disgrace.
I guess I shouldn’t have called people who support H1Bs b.tches in my prior post :)
Open discourse is good and we like to be an independent minded board.
But when you find out that Mike Lee got donations from google and others, HARDCORE leftwing companies, and he’s pushing hard for H1B, it’s hard to see the good in H1B
I can attest to that. I live in Alpharetta and when I moved here in 2000 there weren’t all that many Indians here. Now we are completely overrun by them. The apartment complexes on either side of my subdivision are primarily Indian and there are a lot of them in my subdivision. I work as a field engineer for a larger IT company and I interface with mostly Indians now in my job.
I don’t believe they are working for that cheap anymore either because some of those subdivisions they are in are pretty nice.
yeah
