I’m a citizen and a taxpayer. I think think it’s unnecessary and wasteful.

Agree but it is a damned if you do, damned it you don’t situation.
We have to go back to the ‘first one’ that figured his Presidential duties were to go to a natural disaster site to ‘look’..
All it does it put an extra burden on the people who are actually WORKING because of the extra security, the waste of 3 or 4 airplanes to ‘visit’ (Have to carry the press along)
Maybe a good idea to have the press pay their own way ESPECIALLY since these days the only reason they are there is to catch someone in a ‘mistake’(if an R)
While at knocking the press out, it would be much cheaper to fly all those ‘dignitaries’ first class and coach or charter for the ‘necessary staff’.
All the aides have to do is stay home and let the ‘boss’ record what he/she is doing.
I should be in charge of finances.
Where do I pick up my Private Jet, and Chauferred vehicle that NO ONE else will be able to ride in?

Good job participating in the media effort to bring down Trump and the economy. You played your roles well. Our economic gears are slowing down greatly because of a virus that mainly seems to target people with less than 3 - 5 years max to live anyway.
Be careful what you wish for, because all your cheerleading played right into the media’s hands. You will get the major economic downturn you seemed to be begging for, but you probably will not get the number of deaths that have excited you so much. The logarithmic rates just don’t support that.
So what is this? A PR stunt? Pence comes in close contact with the president and his staff. Just imagine if Pence and Trump got this virus and they both died.
Previous to that, the large numbers would be posted together around
17:30 to 18:30 PST. That means that the majority of new cases, deaths,
and the recovered numbers would be spilled together.
On Monday the negative numbers were published at 13:30 and the positive
numbers three hours later at 16:30.
Yesterday the negative numbers were published at 9:30 & 12:30, with the
positive numbers coming in at 17:53.
Today that same format seems to be playing out. Large negative numbers
were reported at 9:30 and 12:30. It remains to be seen when the positive
numbers will show up.
What this means is that the increase in cases shows up starting as
much as eight hours or more before the recovery numbers show up.
This creates a false narrative that things are getting quickly worse.
Then the media runs with that.
To the contrary, by the end of the day these numbers more than balance out,
with the number of active cases shrinking each day.
I think it's a ploy to make this thing look worse than it is, and the
general public won't actually understand how they are being gamed.
Yesterday morning 1,337 new cases were announced at 09:43. At 12:33
that number had grown to 1,881, and that was made public. Not until 17:53
was it released that 2,621 cases had been resolved. At that time it was
reported that in total 2,184 total new cases had been reported during
the day.
Upshot of the day, there were 2,717 cases resolved yesterday,
and after balancing new cases with the resolved cases, there was a drop
in active cases of 494 cases.
I don't believe that is the message that will be broadcast to the public.

POTUS setting Pence up to earn some admiration and courage kudos from voters. Works like a charm. Well earned.
I thought POTUS would lean in toward Pompeo, personally. He may set them both up to succeed and let his base voters decide.
Pompeo has the resume to die for and has led the Trump agenda through some swampy trails, pretty flawlessly.
They could do all this via video.
Probably more going on than a drop by. Pence will be bringing something back, besides a report and an imagined exposure. Wonder what it might be?

Pompeo is a little short on the public speaking...but Pence is smooth as glass.

Same large numbers being seen in British Columbia. We have a large Asian community so lots of travel back and forth with China. Wonder if that is also the case with Seattle?
