Democrats in San Francisco have made theft under $950 a misdemeanor & cops won't even arrest you for the crime.
Not surprisingly, this has had very predictable results.
It turns out if you tell people they won't get arrested for stealing, it's like a free pass to go shopping.

Drag Queens Gone Wild
How soon before stores will close and go out of business, thanks to another stupid Lib idea?
I guess if the police do nothing then the shopkeepers need to have a neighborhood hired mob patrolling the businesses...
And if the owner tried to physically stop them the owner would be arrested
That is a dangerous way to look at things.

That worked out real well for George Zimmerman and the cop in Ferguson. Just saying....
San Francisco is an absolute disaster and now the architect is running the whole state. Go figure.
The Dems cannot say that this is the poor trying to feed themselves. Since it was a cosmetic store this is all about taking advantage of hard-working business owners without any repercussions.

If I was a shop proprietor in that area I’d probably already be in the can for homicide.
True. But if an owner happened to have real flimsy shelves that could tip over on top of someone when desired, that would be bad too I guess.
I’m believing this is being done to end small brick and mortar shops, pushing more and more purchases online and trackable. Further secondary reasons to push cashless trackable society.

To avoid going out of business, these stores will have to go to some sort of retrieval system. The customer go to a window and gives his order to a clerk. The clerk gets the product and gives it to the customer only after payment is made.
That would work until the city passes a law forbidding it.
I am reminded of what happened a couple of years ago in Philadelphia. To protect their employees, some stores installed bullet-proof glass. The city passed a law making that illegal.
But if the cops do a welfare check on you, they shoot you.
You’re better off looting.
Nice hypothesis but wrong they just hate private property
My brother-in-law works in a Walgreens store in San Francisco. Shoplifting is a daily occurrence by blacks. They're so brazen that they sweep a row of pharmaceuticals off the shelf into a large bag and walk out of the store. Clerks have given up on confronting the thieves, because it does no good and management won't help. B-i-l has had blacks yell in his face and say "Why do you hate niggers!". B-i-l is Chinese and has to face this contempt daily. I don't understand why the store chain is still in business, as this is the pattern throughout the city and multiple branches of the store chain. I keep telling him to get out of there, but he needs the work.
This is fine if average citizens are then allowed to beat the crap out of criminals with baseball bats.
Many times what they push serves multiple agendas and can get them towards a variety of goals.
