The Manhattan lawyer hospitalized with coronavirus is in severe condition, the city Health Department said Tuesday evening.
The lawyer, identified by sources as Lawrence Garbuz, 50, runs a boutique law firm with his wife that also employs one of their four kids as a paralegal, according to information posted online.
The seven-lawyer practice, Lewis & Garbuz, is located across the street from Grand Central Terminal and specializes in matters including personal planning and wealth management, estate litigation, guardianships and elder law, its website says.
Garbuz and his wife, also 50, both graduated from New York University and earned law degrees from Yeshiva Universitys Cardozo School of Law before marrying in 1995, according to a wedding announcement published in the New York Times.
Their firm, founded in 2001, is located across 42nd Street from Grand Central Terminal, and Garbuz reportedly commuted there on the Metro-North Railroad from their family home in New Rochelle.

Well he is at one of the busiest locations in the country.
He had returned from a trip to Israel, not China. The family had also recently been to Miami. But you make a good point re clients. Not that they are Chinese, but that one or more could have been to China, S Ko, or Italy. Same with his synagogue which is now closed.
Imagine how many people in GCS he coughed or sneezed on.
What if, after his ride in from Westchester, he had to use the GCS restrooms (oooh, those are some gross restrooms...lots of homeless bathe in those restrooms!)??
Given his specialty, one of them or one of his colleagues might have visited that nursing home in Washington.
I was quarantined at home during WWII. Brother had Scarlet Fever and our address was publicized.
.
Hopefully it’s just about their planned response, but they have been kinda quiet down there.
They did give a lot of information, just not their name. Told the time they left Lackland and went to the motel, the time they left the motel and took a taxis to North Star mall, the 3 stores they went into before eating at the food court, then the time they took a taxis back to the motel. Then (in the middle of the night), they were picked up by a special ambulance and taken back to quarantine.
Which motel?
Which three stores? Where did they eat?
Thanks. Just posted on the main CV thread.
What do you call 100 lawyers with Coronavirus? A good start.
Too soon for the lawyer jokes?
Grand Central Station—a thousand people could have been infected there in an hour...
and folks here would be asking—”Did they travel from China?”
No, they didn’t. They took a train in Grand Central Station!
And—they will be of every race and nationality, and every age, and every health condition or perfect health...
This is everybody’s problem—no more Freeper excuses and blaming and hoping the victim is not somebody just like you.
Satisfied now?
I believe that only applies to health personnel. If someone not in health service outs him, it’s still legal.
Prayers up for mr. Garbuz.
No. They don’t practice in Washington State.
New York, New Jersey and ...Florida
It looks like they’re getting the info from the British tabs.
And I don’t think foreign media outlets can be prosecuted for HIPPA violations, can they?
50. Nearly end of life anyway. No big deal. /end current meme
