Americans across the country are stocking up on hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, toilet paper and other products to prepare for the spread of coronavirus.
Long lines at stores and panic buying on cleaning products throughout the country are stretching American retailers' ability to keep up with demand. Shoppers are posting pictures on social media of lines snaking around Costco and empty shelves of sanitizers at CVS, Walgreens and other drug stores.
"Very, very busy!" Costco chief financial officer Richard Galanti said in an email Saturday. Costco was the top stock on the S&P 500 Monday. Walmart, Walgreens and other retail stocks also jumped.
"It does feel like there is a little bit of panic buying going on," said Doug Baker, vice president of industry relations at trade group Food Marketing Institute. Retailers are "trying to follow the bouncing ball as quickly as they can."

Better stock up on ammo. Just to be sure.
You wont find hand sanitizer but you might find the ingredients to make it..if you hurry up and buy it.

Waiting to read about the first armed robbery for the big jugs of Purell. It may take the robber-class a while to re-tool their business model to target sanitizer in place of glass display cases of cell phones or jewelry.
consider vodka
the problem with that is i only use while out...hand sanitizer vodka might get me arrested. not sure on that. i guess it if is not in an open container.
T.P. And masks I already had. Didnt think of sanitizer, when I have lots of hand soap......guess it might be good when away from the house, before and after picking my nose.
Wal*Mart closest to me - been out of bleach for days now
I didn’t try to get any but kept hearing how people found none, there.
futures up big tonight...right now ES up 32.5 AMZN up despite worker get wuhan flu
try home depot or lowes if you have one near.
I got a sh*t ton of TP a month ago. So I’m good. Can survive anything with enough beans (and the necessary TP to go with it) and a pool for water.
If you substitute soap and water for the alcohol hand sanitizer whenever possible, your stash of portable sanitizer will last longer and you’ll need less. Soap isn’t worse.
I’m guessing hand washing is probably way more important way to avoid catching this than any mask.
I’m not a scare monger on this thing but hand washing is a really low effort common sense way that’ll save you from all sorts of bugs.
Thanks!
All those dollar stores sell hand sanitizer. The people who usually patronize them probably have no idea what’s going on, so there should be plenty on the shelves.
Vodka,
Kahlua and some
Half and Half.
I may start
Drinking again!

Between this BS Virus and
BernBots,,,
I bought up supplies last week, but it wasn't so much to avoid the virus,
as to avoid the idiots.
My meals are meager. I don't overdue it. I can get by for a long period
of time on pretty sparse supplies.
Right now I have enough in my home to last from 3-6 months.
Any other person would probably not think I have enough to last that long.
I do if I pace myself.
I buy eggs, and often have to toss some because I don't eat them all.
The way I get around that is to mix six eggs at a time thoroughly.
Out of a dozen double AA eggs, I'll get 27 egg ice cubes. Each cube makes
a nice sandwich size egg.
Two dozen eggs can produce 54 cubes.
They're good for six months, at least.
I have rice, beans, and frozen food. I have soup, chips, cereal, and fruit.
I'll probably venture out to get a few things a few times.
Other than that, I could stay on the property for a long time.
I do have some social things I need to do out.
I'd just as soon pass those up, but I don't want to completely
hole up.
I went to Fry’s (Kroger) this evening. The toilet paper supply was thin. I got my brand but not in the largest package the way I usually do. However, there was a lot of TP still on the shelves.
I didn’t look at bleach, but I was around most of the store and didn’t see any shortages.
I was at the Fife, Washington Costco. A person in line asked when he next shipment of toilet paper would come. There was no answer. Looks like it will come to a bucket of water and a tersorium on a stick.
I’ve got plenty of .38 Special and rifle ammo, but I’m low on Tokarev.
