A new book by former First Lady Barbara Bush, published posthumously, gives fresh insight into her historic romance with former President George H. W. Bush.
In Pearls of Wisdom: Little Pieces of Advice (That Go a Long Way), released Tuesday, their son Jeb Bush remembers an interaction between his parents shortly before his mother’s death in April 2018 — one that brought the attending hospital staff to tears.
“The last time my mom went into the hospital, I think Dad got sick on purpose so he could be with her. That’s my theory, at least, because literally a day later he showed up with an illness,” writes Jeb in the book, which is a collection of stories and advice from the Bush matriarch’s friends and family. “He came into her room while she was sleeping and held her hand. His hair was standing straight up, and he was wearing a hospital gown. In other words, he looked like hell!”

This stuff happens every day in hospitals and bed sides around the world. And each time is just as meaningful.
Having their children “share” this experience means nothing to me. The Bushes are not “special.”

Many on this thread have given you reasons why they don’t think this couple was a ‘class act’........one of the biggies was his push for a ‘new world order’
My ‘one issue’ as you call it involved the suctioning/dismembering of 60 MILLION unborn babies!
Because people like the Bushes and their ilk support this......abortion has been ramped up to include killing the baby AFTER it is born.
By now they have met their maker......as we all will!
George H.W. fought in the war......and was injured
Credit to his acts of bravery for that
But what he tried to do .....and did.....in his later years...
...and the very fact Barbara......and Laura and Laura’s two daughters are Pro abortion ( but tried to hid it initially)
.....without reservation .....prevents me from considering them a ‘class act’

I don’t understand if you’re conflating our awareness of what both Bushes did to us to my repugnance of their abortion stance
Abortion was not the issue, but you have that in your head. No matter how you speak of the dead it doesn’t change a thing.
It changes everything if you’re dead!
