A new book by former First Lady Barbara Bush, published posthumously, gives fresh insight into her historic romance with former President George H. W. Bush.
In Pearls of Wisdom: Little Pieces of Advice (That Go a Long Way), released Tuesday, their son Jeb Bush remembers an interaction between his parents shortly before his mother’s death in April 2018 — one that brought the attending hospital staff to tears.
“The last time my mom went into the hospital, I think Dad got sick on purpose so he could be with her. That’s my theory, at least, because literally a day later he showed up with an illness,” writes Jeb in the book, which is a collection of stories and advice from the Bush matriarch’s friends and family. “He came into her room while she was sleeping and held her hand. His hair was standing straight up, and he was wearing a hospital gown. In other words, he looked like hell!”

Their family was an 80 year disaster for America. Prescott was in the background of the coup Smedley Butler exposed. Prescott only barely avoided prosecution for trading with the nazi’s AFTER Pearl Harbor and us declaring war on Nazi Germany. His business dealings continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act. George H was grandfathered into the CIA world with his oil company cover. Can’t remember where he was when JFK was assassinated. Gets elected Veep, and Reagan gets shot a month after inauguration. The assassin’s family were good friends with the Bush family.
Smuggled dope into Mena Arkansas with his future son Billy Clinton. Then his son W became president. After 9/11 flooded in 850,000 moslems to America. (he let the Saudis go, and increased Saudi visas 16 fold). Kept the border wide open.
He sat utterly silent during the Obama years, merely painting on his back patio.
The moment Trump is in office, the moron W springs back to life and undermines him constantly.
The hell with the Bush family including the wives. They have been a blight on America.

Crying? Knowing Barbara Bush and her penchant for mean, cutting remarks, she was probably being sarcastic, and the comment was meant to get a laugh.

And his relationship with Barbara was a true love story that should not be laughed at. We would be a lot better off today with more of that.”

At one time I had a lot of respect for the Bush family, but after 41 and 43 not any more. The Bush family was a disaster for the Republican party and the country because they lurched and lived on the left side of the political spectrum while all the while preaching how conservative they were. Out both of them we got Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito, nothing more.
As for their personal lives, they seemed like decent people and I’ll leave it at that.

And I totally agree, he blew it big time. My Mother was a walking history book, now long gone from here. She said voting for GHWB was the hardest decision she made for prez. She said Old Bush couldn’t WAIT to get in office and UNdo everything Reagan did.
Looking back at the Bushes in general, they were indeed, not conservative, not truthful, not on “our” side. He was CIA for crying out loud.
But wow, that Michael Dukakis was a doozy. She voted Bush. The only reason you don’t vote, she said, was if you’re dead. haa Now the dems changed all that.
