The Democratic presidential primary is doing just what Amy Klobuchar feared it would do in last weeks debate: ripping it apart. A self-proclaimed democratic socialist who bashes billionaires every chance he gets competes with an actual billionaire for the nomination while largely ignoring the other white male septuagenarian and the last remaining woman in the race.
As Sen. Bernie Sanders candidacy gains momentum, traditional party liberals like Matt Bennett, who worked as Deputy Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs for President Clinton, say, Its this incredible sense that were hurtling to the abyss. I also think we could lose the House. And if we do, there would be absolutely no way to stop [Trump]. Today is the most depressed Ive ever been in politics.
Democrats are in disarray as the party cannot find a candidate who unites their warring factions. Voters do not know where the party stands on crucial issues. The current front-runner supports policies that would cost the average taxpayer thousands of dollars and eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs.
While trying to appear united on the need to do something about climate change, beneath the surface Democrats are in deep disagreement. Those on the far left want to pass the Green New Deal (GND), a proposal light on specifics but heavy on costs, while those on the near left promote a less ambitious approach that fails to excite their base.
Progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have established the GND as their litmus test for 2020 presidential candidates while denigrating more moderate Democrat incumbents as insufficiently committed.
The GND has large sections that do not address climate change but instead focus on reshaping the economy into a socialist system. If passed, the proposal would likely cost the average American family tens of thousands annually according to the American Action Forum and would drive many companies in the energy and manufacturing industries out of business.
Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admits the GND is not a serious policy that unites Democrats: Its not legislation. Its a list of aspirations Just because somebody has an idea doesnt mean it goes to the floor.
A similar divide exists on health-care policy between Sen. Sanders Medicare for All plan and candidates like former VP Joe Biden, who support a quasi-public option. Both proposals entail a massive expansion of government involvement in health care, but only Medicare for All abolishes all private insurance.
In a recent debate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who supports a watered-down version of Medicare for All, argued Klobuchars proposal was a Post-it note saying insert plan here.
Former candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg, punched back by arguing Medicare for All is a political disaster that Americans do not want and do not need.
Compromise is unlikely. Sen. Sanders remains committed to a proposal that will eliminate thousands of jobs, reduce consumer choice and cost so much he wont even give an estimate.
Even the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives is having trouble advancing some of the most radical proposals. A bill before the Financial Services Committee capping short-term loans at 36% has divided Democrats on the committee.
According to Beau Brunson, director of policy and regulatory affairs at Consumers Research, Mandating an annualized rate of 36 percent would effectively eliminate small-dollar loans as a credit option for millions of financially vulnerable Americans. To where will these consumers turn should the proposed bill pass?
Democrat Reps. Brad Sherman and David Scott have raised these concerns in committee hearings and have rightly committed themselves to ensuring their constituents have access to cash and are not forced to turn to either unregulated online lenders or illegal operators.
Unlike Sherman and Scott, most Democrats on the committee seem more interested in scoring political points by increasing government regulations on lenders than in helping poor Americans access financial services and protecting consumer choice.
These are just a few examples of areas where Democrats are divided on crucial issues, as far-left progressives continue to push the party towards an extreme that will hurt many Americans.
At the end of the day, President Trumps policies have encouraged a strong, thriving economy that promises a job for anyone who wants one. The Democrats are in a fight for the soul of their party. Their voters have a Hobsons choice between socialism (which will wreck the economy) and a return to overregulation and taxation which will grind the nations economic engine to a halt.

BRING BACK SLAVERY! VOTE FOR BERNIE!
Now the real begins!
Correction: the real fun.
The only cure is going to be a tiny teaspoon of their own medicine.
The green new deal is a new green spiel.
To the smallest minority, the individual, smile. To the greatest collective, the family, smile. The other collective constructs do not have a good track record. Some are dysfunctional. Some are evil. Be aware. Enjoy life. It zooms by.
The entire Democrat Party is dysfunctional.
I do wonder what the rat end game is. At the moment they are going all out to prop up Joe to stop Bernie but they must know Joe is a walking train wreck. So what is the next move once they stop Bernie?
May it continue!!
I suspect that if the Dems lose the house the next two years will be the most productive in American History.
Some lessons can be learned from the Bible.
Jesus came to divide.
Jesus came to unite.
How is that possible? Can’t be right. Jesus came to divide and unite on the same issue. I will letter the reader do their own thinking on what the issue is.
Trump follows this same model. He divides and unites on the issue of patriotisms.
The RATS have so many division points, it doesn’t work.
I think the Democrats, at some level, have given up on the presidency for 2020. They really want to hold on to the House and they are afraid that they won’t be able to.
If Trump gets both House and Senate, he will have 2 great years. And then what? The momentum for more of the same may be unstoppable — so I don’t think it’s just 2 years. The Globalist policies of selling America to China have hurt us for decades. Once Americans really see that it doesn’t have to be that way, they won’t go back. They won’t be so easy to fool again.
If he is to have any hope of keeping any of Bernie’s voters onboard Joe is going to have to adopt enough of his platform (forgiving student loans for example) to destroy any perception out there that he is a, quote, “moderate”.
Nursery rhymes are probably not politically correct but Humpty Dumpty does have some application here.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the kings horses and all the kings men,
couldnt put Humpty together again.
Rats are so broken apart from the great fall, can anyone put it back together?

from the above site, there is this comment from a gentlemen with a thinking cap:
Years ago, as a commentary on our times, I wrote a second stanza to the Humpty Dumpty rhyme:
Humpty Dumpty, after his fall,
Called in his lawyers and said Sue em all!
They sued the kings horses and all the kings men
For failing to put him together again.
The Democratic Party worships “The Thing”!
Americans who still care about things like the nations economic engine (let alone basic morality) cannot vote for this collectivist party, anyway. If they truly despise Trump based on his Twitter feed or the MSMs mischaracterization of him, they have to vote Libertarian...or better yet, stay home.
I keep hearing this, but I find it hard to consider that the average democratic party voter, or however they juice the system, has not historically voted their intelligence, but their party.
As the flock that originally started this burlesque show drops out, and sends their support to one of the two candidates they think can beat Trump, not do something for the people, it is a perfect showcase of party unity and not public service. Yet the voters buy into it and think it means the failed candidate was with them all along.
But it all falls under one question:
If the party has/had no message and no make able platform, then why did Hilary the beast win the popular vote in 2016?
People don’t vote issues, they vote party tickets, take what they get, and then are told to like it, and are stupid enough to agree.
If Trump really wants to beat the machine again, this time he is going to have to play dirty. And I hate that type of game but he has displayed what he is doing right, and it is still a question of trying to overcome lefty lies. So if it is the only way to continue the successes of the country, and not fall back into third world mode, again, like under Obama or a charlatan society like under Clinton, bring out the gloves, and turn it when you hit. They will have to bleed enough to impress people they won’t win, period. Make it ugly.
