In a hypersexualized world, where reality dating shows revolve around sex appeal and dating drama, Netflix’s new show, Love is Blind, has refreshingly changed the focus of relationships to the importance of emotional connection before physical. In doing so, an uncomfortable truth was shown: men are using abortion as a means to escape responsibility, and abortion is hurting women in the process.
Tearfully, one of the contestants named Amber shared her personal experience with abortion. After disclosing an unexpected pregnancy to a previous boyfriend, she thought to be her “other half,” who in turn went into “problem-solving mode” asking, “How are we going to fix this?”
That reaction, she explained, was the force behind her ultimate decision, which resulted in being “the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through in my entire life” and “not exactly something that like I’m proud of.”
The experience led her to struggle with “getting out of bed in the morning,” eating, and even “sleeping.”
Fighting through tears she stated, “I need to know that if a situation like that were to come up, and an unexpected pregnancy happens, I’m not going to be, I won’t be forced to choose. I can’t survive that again. It would destroy me.”
This experience is tragically not unique.
Thus, the question should be asked: In a time of intense emotion, like the discovery of an unexpected pregnancy, why is abortion viewed as a way to “solve a problem” by men?
Perhaps it’s because pro-abortion advocates like the Guttmacher Institute suggest that male involvement in abortion decision-making “may not only strengthen couples’ relationships, but also help men become stronger advocates for women in general.”
Or maybe it’s that people are encouraged to “shout their abortion” and celebrities like Michelle Williams claim on stage that if it weren’t for their abortion, they wouldn’t be where they are today.
Having two people to come together in trying times should strengthen a couple’s relationship. However, abortion is the intentional act of ending the life of a human being. Making the decision to end the life of one’s own offspring won’t strengthen relationships and has been shown to increase emotional distress and increase risk for separation or divorce after an abortion has been performed.
It’s in the most trying times of our lives that we grow the most. Abortion is a tool used to escape, avoid responsibility, and leverage decision-making in difficult or unforeseen circumstances, stagnating true potential in relationship growth and distancing men and women from one another.
Nearly three-quarters (73.8%) of women with a history of abortion surveyed in a study published in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons experienced at least subtle forms of pressure to terminate their pregnancies. More notably, more than half of the women reported that the perceived pressure was great enough to significantly influence their decision to abort as almost one-third of all the women feared they would lose their partner if they did not terminate their pregnancy.
More notably, women also revealed similar feelings to those felt by Amber. Having reported to be psychologically healthy before their first abortion, the women revealed that afterwards they had symptoms of depression, guilt, shame, regret, self-hatred, feelings of worthlessness, feelings of being unworthy of love, drug or alcohol addiction, low self-esteem, anxiety, and even thoughts or attempts of suicide.
Forcing a woman to choose between ending the life of her child or continuing a relationship, an education, or a career path is everything but empowerment. Why can’t a woman be both a mother and a student? Why can’t she be a mom and a leader in the workforce? In a time where gender equality is often a focus of societal debate, the core principle of equality – equal opportunity – is often overlooked by the masses because we don’t have policies or spokespeople telling women they can do both.
Women deserve better options than taking their child’s life and suffering from the devastating physical, psychological, and emotional consequences. Men should be encouraged to embrace the responsibility of fatherhood and stand beside women during pregnancy. Reproductive and sexual health policies should encourage family growth and empower women, not do the opposite.
A friend of mine a nurse worked in a nursing home for the aged.
Said one elderly patient spoke frequently about her regret for having an abortion in her youth.
Seems as if it comes back to haunt them....
Even if, at the time, they congratulated themselves for having rid themselves of “the problem.”
“Seems as if it comes back to haunt them....”
As people get older, they tend to recognize their children as their lasting legacy to the world. The recognition that that you destroyed it before it was born, I imagine, would be haunting.
sad but true, the guilt later in years has to come back to them as they near the end of their lives
“Why cant a woman be both a mother and a student? Why cant she be a mom and a leader in the workforce?”

Well...There is morning sickness. I am the mother of four. I have spent one year of my life throwing up.
I do a lot of work with women who have had abortions, sometimes many abortions. Never to judge them, but to help them heal the wound in their soul created by the abortion.
Here are a few of my observations.
1. The soul knows that taking a life is wrong no matter if the woman is very pro abortion. There is ALWAYS guilt.
2. The cold non emotional rejection of the fetus often results in a lack of emotional bond necessary when they try to have a child, resulting in a miscarriage as emotional bonding with the mother is necessary for healthy fetal development.
3. The subconscious guilt often causes the woman to be positively stimulated by criticism or punishment as they feel it is deserved in order to decrease their guilt. This often leads to self punishment through immune system suppression and illness.
4. The woman will often become an abortion activist as if they can convince other people it is ok, they might be able to believe it themselves.
5. Often the soul of the developing fetus clings to the mother and is there years later, but the mother is unaware.
6. The woman will often destroy a healthy parental relationship if they have an abortion secretly and they know the parents would not approve.
The list is much longer, but these are the most common.
I’ve frequently encountered confessions of abortions when people are dying.
I had a Catholic woman go into actions like she was delivering a baby the guilt was so great. I was working with her husband who was very ill. Suddenly I hear this heavy breathing and moaning, and his wife was laying on the floor with her legs spread pushing like she was delivering a baby.
I went with it and told her to push, and after a few pushes she pushed the guilt out of her body. Then the tears flowed.
I know a gal who worked at a home for pregnant teens in Detroit. MOST of them had affairs with a much older man, often in his 40s. They were often from an unloving home. The uncle or older friend showed them “love” and attention. Convinced the girl to have sex. Then once the girl was PG the older “man” disappeared. It was obvious that abortion exists mainly to protect the “man” who got the little girl PG. That was the main theme/opinion of that home for pregnant teens. If the girl refuses to name him, nothing can be done to punish him.
I met a woman who worked with a support group like AA, only it was for women who had abortions. Often even 25 years later they came to her group. She and the other group leaders had a 12 step program that ended at a cemetery where they had a “funeral” for the lost child.
Another friend is a doctor and married to the gal in first paragraph. He said so often these young young young girls come to his hospital for help. They have had abortions and either the abortionist left baby parts inside her uterus, or other things like the sac... or damaged, punctured the uterus. SOMETIMES they were able to fix the damage through surgery. These girls were 13, 14 or so. Too young to be rational. Many just trying to get out of an unloving home. Thinking this “man” would marry them and shower them with love. (This is much the same way pimps get young girls to leave home and come work for them)
They do not talk about this on the news. They do not warn the girls of the dangers of physical or emotional damage. Baby killing is a big bu$ine$$. It is so evil.
We lost a baby in the late 1970s, before we had our first child in 1981. It was a miscarriage. I still grieve for Kim Blair. I cannot imagine the guilt women have if they actually KILLED their unborn child.
We just had our 3rd grandchild in January. I cannot imagine life without Rose!
Why do we all think so MANY women are on PROZAC? Like my little sister! And I think she had abortion when she was 19. She had to go to hospital for a D and C. She didn’t admit it at the time, but I think it was actually either an abortion, or repairs after a botched abortion. This was in 1973. She is still on PROZAC! She was never able to have a child after that and that depresses her, too.
They sure don’t counsel the young girls about any of this. Now with morning after pill they think abortion is nothing. Until many years later.... When the other big bu$ine$$ is Prozac... Money is being made during and long after the abortion.
The ONLY reason they were able to make it legal was that they LIED to the public. Said it wasn’t a baby, just a mass of cells. Well now we know heart is beating at 18 days after conception. And they also told us the baby had gills early in pregnancy, making it seem less than human. It doesn’t.
I am 69 and at the latter end of my earthly life. IF you hear that I passed away, do not grieve for me, I will be reunited in Heaven with Kim Blair!!!!!!!!!!!!
why is abortion viewed as a way to solve a problem by men....
Because the girl/victim is often UNDER AGE, and the “man” is often Much Older.
Abortion keeps him out of prison for pedophilia.
That is what I heard from the woman who was running an abortion help group. She said even 25 years later the depression was real and worsening.
4. The woman will often become an abortion activist as if they can convince other people it is ok, they might be able to believe it themselves.
That is one of my main theories. MISERY LOVES COMPANY.
If she can convince many others to abort then she feels better about herself. Or so she thinks.
I wish the abortion clinics would take all the aborted babies and dump them over the heads of the pro abortion people. That would show them what they are doing.
These same people do not eat meat. That is killing. They are PETA people. They would never kill a baby eagle in the egg. They would think you were terrible if you rushed in and killed that baby giraffe born a few months ago in a zoo. They have no respect for human life.
“why is abortion viewed as a way to solve a problem by men....”
Because the child support laws suck as they are written. They are very unfair.
It’s surprising the Barack Obama Channel would show such a thing. Of course, the show says nothing about abortion’s real victims, only the partially-responsible ones.
I knew a woman who had an abortion. She had a recurring dream / nightmare. She would meet the daughter that was aborted. Her daughter would hold her hand. "Mommy, its alright. I understand" It was not reassuring. These dreams completely tore the woman apart
Women were sold a lie by feminist. They were told they could have it all, like men do. The problem is men dont have it all. We sacrifice time with our family to provide for our family. No one can have it all in life, everyone has to prioritize their time. Women cant be both a great mom and a great worker, one, or both, are going to suffer.
We could solve half our countries problems if couples would stay married and women would stay home and raise their children. However, in a free society I dont see how we get back to that.
The whole not ready/don’t want to be a parent thing around abortion is so delusional. You ARE ALREADY a mother to a baby when you’re pregnant. And after the abortion you are the mother of a dead one. That is a fact.
Agree with every word.
