NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) A tornado touched down north of downtown Nashville. Serious damage was caused in many parts of town including Germantown, where we've seen some of the worst damage.

video indictated that this was one big tornado.
Horrible.
Was looking at a drone video on twitter. It looked like quite a few big expensive homes were badly damaged.
It hit Mt. Juliet and Lebanon area as well.
Nine. Oh, crap.
I guess it’s not a surprise, though. Night-time tornado and it’s early in the season, so people are not as on guard as they might be. But, they, no, we, should be:

TEMA says 19 dead, mostly in Putnam County.
Wow. That is a lot of “town” to get clobbered.
Some of our local TV weather people PMO. (P*** Me Off.) Like last night. They are generally ok with the warnings and so on, but, they tend to, just as soon as a dangerous storm passes out of their “coverage area”, literally celebrate. “It’s leaving our coverage area - that’s good news!!” said as if someone just dropped a C-note in their lap. Never mind that a tornadic storm is strengthening and making a beeline toward a couple million people (Nashville metro area).
Dropping coverage to focus on still other storms in their coverage area I understand. The giddiness I do not.
Beau and I were chatting the other morning and making plans for Spring Projects, etc.
Then, we remembered we need to get through Tornado Season, first. :(
I really hate it - mostly because our creepy old basement is out of, ‘Silence of the Lambs’ and that’s the LAST place I want to spend my final hours! ;)
Oh, damn.
Well, unless your home is old masonry, you are pretty safe in the basement. But, still...
Maybe you can get Beau to fix up the basement a bit. Bribe him. ;-)
We have six figures biz damages at two sites in Wilson Co
Not important considering loss of life
Had an overview on noon news. Severe. Could see low cloud dark deck at noon looking south toward the horizon. Same system.
I hope someone answered your question by now. I went to bed shortly after my last post here.
Glad your friend and her daughter are ok. I’ll bet your friend doesn’t forget this visit for a while. :-)
I reckon everyone has their preferences but we watch News Channel 5. They had great coverage last night and apparently have covered this all day. They were covering it when I woke up a short time ago and still are. It’s heart-wrenching to see the destruction and learn of so many more deaths.
Of COURSE it's all Trump's fault, colluding with the Russians and Storm of the X-Men to keep the bros down. Mighty Bernie would have wrangled that tornado like Pecos Bill and squeezed college money out of it to boot. Yay!
Like that whiny wuss could actually muster it up LOL. Seriously though, that pair of twisters hitting downtown Nashville in 1998 created some high weirdness. Stalks of straw were found totally penetrating hard wooden planks. Someone reported seeing some stuck in aged concrete. Twelve people went in that one which was far less than initially feared.
18 folks taken as of this writing and I wonder why is this not being wrought on the Dem sanctuary vote-manufacturers while we mainland flyovers get nature's wrath more often. I'm thinking how the real common people come out to help the less fortunate that it's an object lesson to the Left and Right Coasters on how to be human.

Oooooh man! Sorry to hear about that. I knew you had several sites but didn’t realize you had sites in Wilson Co. too.
I’m just getting caught up after a little sleep. The number of deaths jumped quite a bit while I slept but seeing the destruction, it’s a miracle the number is as low as it is.
Now, animal lover that I am, how are your horses?
Yeah, the system is running along south of here today but there’s no severe weather with it. Radar was the first thing I pulled up on the computer when I sat down a few minutes ago. Nice to see we have a calm day.
We were lucky in our neck of the woods. When the storms finally reached us at 6:30, we just got a hefty but brief squall line that didn’t do any damage. I finally went to bed right afterwards.
The ‘98 tornado that hit downtown was another hoss. I was watching Channel 5 that day, too, as it roared through downtown. They’ve shown a few clips of that day today during their coverage.
Amazing some of the things tornados can do.
