Former Saturday Night Live writer and host John Mulaney made a joke Saturday on NBC, that compared President Donald Trump to Julius Caesar a powerful maniac who was assassinated by a group of senators.
Mulaney said, It is a Leap Year, as I said. Leap Year began in 45 B.C. under Julius Caesar. This is true, he started the Leap Year in order to correct the calendar, and we still do it to this day.

Sometimes Conservatives are as bad as the snowflakes looking for something to offend them.
It was a funny show for the most part.
If its not for you...thats OK.
The bit about Dads watching WWII shows like they are studying for a test, was laugh out loud funny. And it described most of my male, Dad, friends.
Would you know when SNL had an opening monologue making fun of demographics other than white males, and joked about killing Democrats?
As to the obsession of old men with war: Men, you may know, are overwhelmingly the people who are called upon to fight wars. Is it surprising that they become obsessed by war? I, myself, am not immune to the disease. Robert E. Lee once said it is good that war is so terrible or else we would grow too fond of it.
Next time you’re in a book store, take a look at the “history” section. It’s almost exclusively about war and politics. Very few books about economic history or family history. There’s something wrong with that, and it’s not the fault of those among us or even among our enemies that responded to the call.
Did you see it?
Hey, I am not going to suggest for a second that we all have to like the same comedy. I will leave that to all the old folk around here.
What I will say is the guy has good writing and his comedic talent is some of the best you will see.
Is everything he says funny? Nope. But Mulaney is a very good stand up.
There are so many important things going on now...getting the least bit worked up over SNL is ridiculous.
What IS amusing is to see the 80 year olds on FR start talking about how SNL was funny in the 70s. Good comedy stands the test of timeHope and Crosby are still funny 70 years later. The old SNL, if you watch it now, does not stand up well.
But, everyone has their own funny bone.
You mention Hope. This wasn’t because Hope joked about killing Presidents, is it? Because that’s not what he did.
“His jokes never hit hard, cut deep, or betrayed any political viewpoint. Mostly they took personalities and events from the news and lampooned them for superficial things ”

Oh for Gods sake. Give it a rest. If you dont like it, dont watch it. And if you didnt watch it, you really cant pass judgement.
And remember...the first amendment applies to everyone.
Get over yourself.
Good to hear you believe in God! And, that you believe that everyone (which would include conservatives) should have freedom of speech. You may think that certain things are funny; but, let’s face it, in a big, diverse world, we should be tolerant of differences on matters such as sense of humor.
