Some good sense here...

Only medical professionals or those working directly with sick people require the protective masks, or those who are reasonably anticipated to potentially infect others with the virus (to protect others). The masks, N95, require fit-testing and training to be used effectively. Any other kind of mask won’t protect against aerosols and is ultimately nothing more than decoration.

This one bothers me. I've read that a quick wipe doesn't do anything and that a 30 second scrub is needed. Is a quick wipe also "nothing more than decoration"?

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. (For example, one could use disinfectant wipes around the seating are of a plane before sitting down)

This is always good advice: "start a sensible exercise regimen." Just don't go to the gym and touch any surfaces like the machines, weights, door handles, fingerprint reader, etc.

OK, came to the office on a Sunday to get some work done. Outside my building was a group of about 30 Japanese high school kids, you could tell because they all had their school uniforms on. They are probably here on a school trip.

Every single one had a mask on. I assume they are following the requirements of Japan which is everyone must wear a mask.

Certainly a 30 sec wipe would be better than a shorter one. I’d like to see the CDC publish some results on the effectiveness of wipes of different durations on influenza and corona-virus. I suspect that they will do that eventually, but I’m guessing they are overwhelmed at the moment.

I just found what appears to be a good site What Kills Coronavirus. Here's their table. Look a the times that wipes require to kill human coronavirus. Does that mean you have to wipe / scrub continuously for that amount of time? Or just wipe and then stand back while the agent does its magic?

It's interesting that none of these materials kill Human Coronavirus, SARS and MERS.
