The National College Players Association is calling on the NCAA to hold upcoming "March Madness” tournament games without fans as a way to protect athletes from contracting and spreading the coronavirus. The nonprofit advocates for the rights and safety of college athletes. On Saturday, the group said it’s in the best interest of the NCAA to take "precautions” to help prevent a pandemic. "They should also make public which actions will be taken and when,” according to a statement. "Precautions should include cancelling all auxiliary events that put players in contact with crowds such as meet and greets and press events.”

Because of the climate crisis(CLIMAGEDDON!), March madness should be cancelled completely. Just think how much less ‘see uh oh 2’(Also known as plant food) would be expelled.
I’d be fine with them playing it if the players walked there.
To really prevent the spread of disease, they should hold the tournament without players AND audience. Or just declare a crisis and not have a tournament at all. It’s just a game, after all.
NOW it’s getting ridiculous.
It sounds like this organization might ultimately want no gathering of people anywhere at any time.
The outbreak is a wonderful opportunity to prove that Government Run Heath care is a fail.
99.999999% of the deaths occurred in government run health care systems.

They should declare a champion based on a social credit system. Competition is so old fashioned.
Just like the SARS panic, this likely will all be forgotten by this time next year, after governments and the media have wrung every ounce of “never let a crisis go to waste” out of it for people control and blockbuster ratings.
In 1918 Iowa hosted Coe College for a football game played during the Spanish Flu pandemic. Spectators were barred from the game and the National Guard was called out to keep fans away. Only a small group of military personnel watched from the stands.
There are pictures online of boxing matches from that era where all the spectators are wearing surgical masks.
What is the fatality percentage of coronavirus patients? Is it substantially greater than the annual variation of flu? Are people who recover from the virus immune from further occurrences? Are we attempting to jump through a hoop that isn’t there?
This could be over by May...even if it is bad in March...
