It is perhaps no accident that the coronavirus panic only began roiling world markets after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) emerged as the frontrunner for the Democratic Partys nomination for president after the Nevada caucuses last weekend.
The democratic socialist is still the frontrunner, despite former Vice President Joe Bidens win in South Carolina on Saturday. He is widely viewed as the least likely to defeat President Donald Trump in Novembers general election.
There are no alternatives to a Sanders-Biden contest, which Biden may struggle to win. The Mike Bloomberg bubble burst at the Nevada debate, and may not recover if Sanders wins California (and Texas) handily on Super Tuesday.
Sanderss surge is itself the result of a despair that seized many Democrats after the Iowa debate, when it seemed none of the candidates could beat Trump. If they were to lose anyway, better to vote for a sentimental favorite.
So the rise of Sanders is the result of one kind of panic, and the coronavirus panic is another: the reaction of those who believe the fake news and have convinced themselves that President Trump really is incompetent in a crisis.
You do not need the majority of people to panic to create a panic. You just need a significant proportion of people, reacting at the same time. And the signal to panic was sent last Tuesday by CDC official Dr. Nancy Messonnier.
Dr. Messioner said: We expect we will see community spread in this country
Its not so much a question of if this will happen anymore, but rather more a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness.

It must be. As far as I can tell, there’s no there there, yet everybody’s running around Chicken Littling.
“Coronavirus Panic Partly Driven by Anti-Trump Hysteria”
Absolutely.
...hyped up by anti-Trump operatives in the news media, the Democrat Party, and elsewhere.
Yep.
Does partly also mean mostly?
” And the signal to panic was sent last Tuesday by CDC official Dr. Nancy Messonnier.”
AKA Rosenweasel’s sister.
What do you mean, “partly”?
The Democrat governor from Washington state has dialed up the National Guard. How absolutely ludicrous is that? Exactly what is the NG going to do? Declare a semi state of martial law by enforcing a curfew and going door-to-door enforcing a quarantine? You know, sort of like after the Boston bombing.
This is just insane. And a lot is driven by the desire to knock the economy and to set up a Katrina narrative for Trump.
everybodys running around Chicken Littling.
Don’t go belittling chickens.
Mostly Driven by Anti-Trump Hysteria!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I hope most people ignore this article and some of Trump’s statements belittling this disease’s effects.
Where is all this panic people are talking about?
I go out in public every day in CA and have yet to see any hint of it.
Or is the author referring to the plethora of news articles on the subject? That would hardly constitute panic.
The only panic I am aware of is the panicked alarmists running around telling everyone not to panic. They’re really agitated.
So I contend it’s really the anti-panic-ers that are the one’s who are panicking.
Bizarre phenomenon.
it’s pretty pathetic that the dem party is depending on their media puppetmasters to whip up Coronavirus hysteria in hopes that it will defeat Trump.
Image, stooping so low as to collude with a Chinese virus to influence an election.
“Pollak: Coronavirus Panic Partly Driven by Anti-Trump Hysteria”
i’ve seen tons of ATTEMPTS to induce panic by the fake stream enemedia (and the usual gaggle of nattering nabobs of negativism at FR), but so far don’t see any ACTUAL panic in Colorado ... no shortages, no lines, no hoarding ... just business as usual ...
possibly there’s so little credibility remaining to the fake stream enemeda, few people believe anything at all they say anymore ... i know i don’t ... maybe people are too busy leading normal lives to panic ... or maybe people are more level-headed than the fake stream enemedia gives the credit for ...
“The only panic I am aware of is the panicked alarmists running around telling everyone not to panic. Theyre really agitated.”
Been looking for it everywhere and that’s the only kind of panic I’ve seen too.
So now a virus is a “part” hoax.
Oh, the hoax is the panic and not the virus, you say?
There is not panic.
Daily Mail showing a few empty shelves and lines at the grocery doesn’t cut it.
