Anxious shoppers have descended on California supermarkets, stocking up on supplies as Coronavirus panic grips the West Coast. The state has become a Cornoavirus hot spot, with more than half a dozen residents diagnosed with the disease in recent days. Late this week, two Northern California residents were revealed to be confirmed cases despite having no known contact with anyone else who was infected. State officials say they are bracing for similar cases of people contracting the disease from an 'unknown origin' and nervous locals are taking no chances.

In the burbs where we live, many have such pretty, empty garages...except their gleaming car/s....ours has containers along walls...and isn’t so pretty, but we just quietly stay prepared.

That’s actually not true. It’s never to late to stock up on food that will last you a month, and it’s not hard to do at all. I did it just this weekend and am now all set. Don’t discourage those just beginning.

The biggest problem is if your local water company doesn’t have replacement parts for some of their pumps... If water’s coming out the faucet it can be cleaned up.
If NOTHING comes out the faucet a two week’s supple is enough to get you to grandma’s house in a small town with a lake near by...

We’ve got a nice pristine mountain lake a hundred yards from us. Just need some water purification system. I guess a big plastic barrel and a bit of Clorox would do in a pinch. Hauling 5 gallon buckets would get tiring, though.
We did that in 1969 when my uncle “finished” his house in Ketchum, ID. The water hadn’t been turned on when we visited that summer, so we made many trips down to nearby Big Wood River with buckets!

I live here ...in Los Angeles. Furthermore, being retired, I am in the stores daily .... absolute NO HOARDING behavior seen anywhere.

It needs to be noted that millions of Cali folks prefer their water bottled. Those that buy bottled to begin with are the ones going nuts at this time for the bottled water in stock.
