Chinese scientists knew about the coronavirus and its deadly effects as early as December — but were ordered by government officials to suppress the evidence, according to a report.
In late December, several genomics companies tested samples from sick patients in Wuhan — the center of the coronavirus outbreak — and noticed alarming similarities between their illnesses and the 2002 SARS virus, the Sunday Times of London reported, citing Chinese business news site Caixin Global.
The researchers alerted Beijing of their findings — and on Jan. 3, received a gag order from China’s National Health Commission, with instructions to destroy the samples.
Rather than hunkering down to contain the virus, Wuhan officials went ahead with their annual potluck dinner for 40,000 families.
The alleged cover-up continued when representatives from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention visited Wuhan Jan. 8, where officials intentionally withheld information that hospital workers had been infected by patients — a telltale sign of contagion.

This is actually pretty amazingly good news. It means the China Virus was active a full month before anyone took precautions.

I believe in being careful - so far they claim that us in MS have about zero chance of contacting the coronavirus but I’m taking regular Flu season precautions - being careful of surfaces, especially in public, wiping grocery cart surfaces and everything I’m gonna touch in the gym...and realizing that other grocery packaging could be contaminated...and stopping breathing and even closing my eyes if someone coughs/sneezes nearby to decrease chances of getting their spray on any of my “receptors”.
Right now it’s more because type A Flu is picking up and more likely to be a factor in my habitat...
I refuse to bite on all the Panic-Now stories ... but it doesn’t make me stupid as far as not taking reasonable precautions.

Wuhan Center for Disease Control (WCDC) is not a Level 4 lab. It does house hundreds of bats for animal research, captured from locations of considerable distance from Wuhan. It is located about a quarter mile from the food market location.
The L4 viral research lab is about eight miles from the food market location.
First acknowledged sample sequenced for viral identification, was taken 24 December 2019 from an infected patient admitted to the Hospital of Wuhan 18 Dec. 2019. Reports of an uptick in pneumonia patients preceded this date for the province in which Wuhan is located.
