I understand the warning. I understand that she committed a crime.
there is more than one level of crime.
But the judicial system hands out felonies like lollipops.
They probably charged her with a felony because they could and let her plea down to a misdemeanor.
If she had not acted like such a spoiled brat, they would have charged her with a misdemeanor, which would have been plead down to a lower level misdemeanor.
Per my example at the beginning of this thread: if I had called 911 again, I would have been charged with a misdemeanor but probably let off with a small fine, perhaps plead down to a very minor misdemeanor, or just given a warning and charged court costs because I wasn’t acting like a brat and did sort of have an unsettling situation.
