What could be more harmless than a British cup of tea?
That’s what our new Chancellor Rishi Sunak must have thought as he shared a benign tweet about making his team a cup of tea while they prepare the budget he has to deliver to British Parliament on March 11.
"Nothing like a good brew," he said.
He could never have known what was about to befall his brand of choice, Yorkshire Tea.
For the crime of their product featuring in a picture with the Conservative Chancellor, there were demands for a boycott, a ban and worse, much worse. So much so that the Yorkshire Tea employee on the receiving end of all this hate made a personal plea from the Yorkshire Tea account:

One HAS to wonder why more people don’t understand that:

I wonder how many suicides happen because of evil people saying hateful things on the so-called “social media” to people who are not mentally strong enough to press through the hard times?
Suicide may be the highest form of self hatred, but IMHO, one MUST NOT let what other people think and say cause that hatred.

Tough times toughen.
We children of The Greatest Generation didn’t have it as tough as our parents and grandparents, but they made damn sure we knew what tough times were!
So we have a pretty clear color photo of tough times.
Unfortunately, most of our children and their children have lived on Easy Street, pretty much.
And, they sureasHell are not grounded in American History and Civics!
When tough times get here, as they certainly will, alotta snowflakes are gonna melt, BIG TIME!
But, you know what, the USA will continue and thrive, particularly if we conservatives get the House in order and keep the White House and Senate.

Kids today are so caught up in social media and meaningless froth. At my granddaughter’s school they have “Be Kind” signs everywhere. I about had a come apart the first time I saw them. We had a talk about that. I told her being kind is fine but being strong matters more. She is so smart and so ignorant. I will be keeping her this summer. She will know American history when I get through with her.
Leftists are almost the definition of intolerant (but they don’t see it because in their minds they’re good and superior and the only ones who know how to correctly judge and control everyone else).

I notice the brand has the Royal Warrant of Prince Charles on it. Hence they are also boycotting all his looney stuff too. :)
Social justice jihadis. They’re in a purity spiral to prove they’re literally better than everyone else. They hate the unbelievers and hunt for the dissenters in their ranks. They justify violence against those who violate their growing list of social rules in the name of the safety of the sacred believers.

HST, Polonius’ admonition is worth giving some thought. IMHO, far too many people are “run” by their social media rather than running their social media.
Since I do not “do” social media, I really don’t care.
