SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Northern California school districts said they have been notified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, urging their sites to prepare for possible novel coronavirus outbreaks.
The CDC on Wednesday confirmed a case in Northern California that is possibly the first instance in the U.S. of community spread of COVID-19.
The Solano County patient “had no known exposure to the virus through travel or close contact with a known infected individual,” according to the California Department of Public Health.
Travis Unified School District and Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District said they were contacted by the CDC.
“While this may be alarming to some parents, the risk to Solano County residents and the general public is still low at this time. We can assure you that our staff is doing everything in their power to keep school sites disinfected and clean for all students and staff,” Travis Unified School District said in a statement posted on its website.
Additionally, the Elk Grove Unified School District said it received an advisory from state health officials Wednesday about the virus.

Of course no “EN MASSE” yet...COVID-19 is not endemic yet...not even close...~83300 cases worldwide. 100’s of millions of cases of flu worldwide. We are talking about what will happen when COVID-19 becomes widespread, you are talking about the current small # of cases. It is the “average seriousness”, “R0”, “mortality rate” numbers that are interesting, not the current total number of cases/deaths. My “back of the napkin” “mortality rate” #’s....4330 cases outside of China/Iran (I don’t trust their numbers)...44 deaths in that group for a simplified “mortality rate” of 1%....a bad flu season in the USA...44,802,000 cases, 61000 deaths for a simplified “mortality rate” of 0.13% So COVID-19 is running 7.7x is the mortality rate.

Oh, I agree that there is a certain hysteria factor being driven this week by the MSM. Look, this is a new bug...all the factors are not yet known...like can one get re-infected? Why do some people seemingly cured come down with the disease again and suffer heart failure due to the virus...
So, there are unknowns at the moment. There are also knowns too...Prudent action during any flu season is highly recommended.
We are used to the “regular” flu season, evey though tens of thousands die each year. It is a known quality.
Videos of people walking down the street and falling down twitching away is rather disturbing. Seeing people’s doors welded shut is a powerful image. Having roving gangs of CCP/police beating people for being outside and/or not wearing a mask is a telling image...
So people begin to wonder....if this is no more than the flu, then why are people being welded into their homes? Why are towns in Italy on lock down? Why are all schools in Japan closed until further notice...its just the flu, right?
But I do agree that a certain hysteria has taken hold. Going over to Reddit to the Coronavirus sub tells a story of that hysteria. People are working themselves into a frenzy...some are thinking of ending their lives...others say its a plot by (fill in the blank) Trump is the cause...Pence is going to pray it away...Real toxic stuff...
The supply disruptions are becoming real. But once the Chinese factories start humming again and pallative medicine gets online...then things will abate.

So thinking either one or more of the following: moron, kid using dad’s account and trolling or government/corporate shill. Probably too old of an account for foreign influence. He/she/it has still not acknowledged he understands what endemic means and how it applies to the numbers he keeps spouting off. That’s very telling...
Well...maybe not...Stories out of Japan indicate re-infection from no known source, which indicates that the virus still hides in the body, only to reemerge later to more damaging results. Once this mechanism is understood, then we can begin to get a handle on this new bug.
