Quebec Premier Francois Legault accused First Nations protesters of being armed with AK-47 assault rifles and said police are reluctant to remove barricades because of potential violence.
The SQ [Surete du Quebec] is working on a plan to dismantle the barricades, Legault told reporters, according to CBC. But he said The SQ Quebec Provincial Police havent made much progress because the Mohawks at the First Nations Reserve of Kahnawake have access to weapons, including AK-47s, Montreals City News reported Wednesday.

No sympathy for the wild indians, but a very good example of how an armed population can stand up to unresponsive government.

Whether right or wrong, it does prove that weapons in the hands of citizens are the only things that stop government from doing whatever it wants to the little people.

But wait Canada has extreme and punitive firearm laws. I am sure this is illegal in Canada.
But even if the natives have weapons we all know that weapons in the hands of citizens can deter the government.
Reality check, if this were a conservative group the Canadian government would have already had a military style intervention. But this a leftist group being kowtowed to by a leftist government.

Back in the 1990’s when the Indians took over the bridges on the interstate highways through the reservation, I was traveling around Nova Scotia.
The English Scotians were rooting for the Indians as they hated the French. They said England’s greatest mistake in Canada was not driving the French into the Pacific.

Just goes to prove my point that Canada is an ungovernable country. I honestly think your average LA street gang could take over the entire country within a week.

I don’t think the Indians would have much sympathy for you, either, Ben. I think they would hold off the ambulances and the Mounties trying to get to you.

They’re doing a good job so far. Trudeau needs to drop the hammer and get civilization back on track.

What’s the harm in pulling for the Indians this time? The Canadians are buttholes.

Fortunately the Crips hate the cold, so Canada's safe until the Global warming takes over
I am sure this is illegal in Canada
The thing here is, the government and courts effectively treat Indian Reservations as "semi-independent". They're not, they're still part of Canada, but the RCMP will not go in there and the FedGov (especially the bleeding-heart Liberals) won't do anything to infringe on "native sovereignty", and the natives know it ... that why this crap keeps happening, and keeps dragging on and on ... the perpetrators know they'll never be held accountable (but if a white guy tried to pull this, he'd be in jail in a matter of hours)
Some areas are worse than others, BC is among the worst, really political - one of the reasons I left for Alberta: at least the natives here seem more interested in working and getting along.
