This common email phishing scam just caught a Shark.

“Shark Tank” star and real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran revealed Wednesday that she lost almost $400,000 after scammers tricked her bookkeeper by sending a bill that appeared to come from her assistant.

“Lesson learned: Be careful when you wire money!” Corcoran tweeted on Wednesday. She also confirmed to ABC News that, “This morning I wired $388,000 into a false bank account in Asia.”

Why couldn’t they have done this to Cuban? He’s a a-hole.

Me? I’d first ask Mrs. POF “What did you buy now?”

She’s pretty hot. If all older women kept their looks this would be a much happier place.

Why is Cuban even on that show? He never puts a bid in, and if he does, he’s always low-balling.

Still smarter than Bob Beckel writing a personal check to a prostitute who then used it to blackmail him. What a dope.

I recall an episode where a contestant made a deal with Mark Cuban. The contestant left the room all happy. He was going into business with Mark Cuban!

As the scene was ending, Cuban turned to the Shark next to him and said something like ‘I’m going to flip that company immediately.” In other words, Cuban was planning to sell his share in the new company as soon as possible, for a quick profit.

So much for that contestant’s dream of working with Mark Cuban.

Yep. And I will give Corcoran credit here. This has to be an embarrassment to her. Yet she went public as a warning to others.

I always said that if someone stole my identity I would charge him $1000 to take it back.

Yesterday, I got a phone message saying my electric service is being disconnected because of nonpayment. I did not answer it and it went onto my voicemail. I listened to the voicemail, who said it was my power company and to call 1-800-680-5835. Before I called the scammers, I called my power company who informed me there was a scam going on pretending they were my power company and telling people their power would be disconnected.

I then called number the scammers gave in my voicemail. It answered exactly like my real power company, complete with phone options for payment. However, the number was not the one my real power company lists on their website. And the phone options were set up for live and automatic options. I got a live person. I asked to talk to someone who handled customer accounts. When the person answered with a foreign accent, I asked what department I have reached for verification. The person acted very irritated and said, “Why am I asking?” I said, “I want to verify if I got the correct department.” He almost shouted, “You know what department this is!” I told him, “I sure do, because I am monitoring your activities for the US Federal Trade Commission.” He hung up.

I then called my state attorney general and the US Federal Trade Commission and gave them the most current information while the live phone number was in effect.

I just called the original number for the phone call. 1-800-680-5835, is not in service.

It amazes me that there is no active campaign to inform people about these phone scams. There should be warning messages in every phone bill.

I only found out about them by watching a few YouTube videos.

The first clue was the ‘wire money’. Nobody wires money anymore.
