Iranian Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar tests positive for coronavirus: Report

Iranian Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Masoumeh Ebtekar has tested positive for coronavirus, the state-run daily IRAN reported.

Ebtekar is the first member of President Hassan Rouahni’s cabinet to be infected with the novel coronavirus.

Earlier today, the chairman of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign affairs committee Mojtaba Zolnour announced in a video that he had also been infected with the disease.

Two other Iranian officials – Member of Parliament Mahmoud Sadeghi and Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi – have also previously confirmed that they have been infected with the disease.

State media also reported on Thursday that Iranian cleric Hadi Khosroshahi died from coronavirus in Qom.

Khosroshahi served as Iran’s ambassador to the Vatican following the 1979 revolution.

More likely a higher level delegation from China meeting with the same in Iran trying to defeat the sanctions.

The Silk Road transversed Iran. Sure the Chinese merchants and their personnel after the hard trip through the Asian deserts and mountains dallied a bit in Iran and left a big genetic footprint. Also the Mongols conquered raped and pillaged Iran. Modern Iranians have many Asian genes.

But could be a group of Iranians who went to China to get samples of the virus for their bio-weapon purposes. Send a few hundred infected illegals or operatives across the border and send them to, say, subways in New York? Be a low rent way to cause mass chaos with major economic impact here.

These guys used box cutters to cost us ten trillion dollars, so who knows what they’ll come up with?
