It's hard to tell if the superheated response by the Left (the media) to the coronavirus outbreak from China is due to there being a slow news cycle (which is hard to believe), a legitimate news story with U.S. ramifications, or as something to tattoo Donald Trump with a 'Hurricane Katrina' moment.
As the media have amply shown, their zeal to tag President Trump with the most cockamamie accusations knows no bounds. Remember, some of these people still cling to the fiction that Trump is a Russian agent. They won't take "no" and multiple exhaustive investigations for an answer.
As if praying for a Black Swan event, CNBC is running a non-stop coronavirus update and any new cases are breathlessly reported. Georgia (the country, not the state) — Oh no! Italy – (swamped by expat Chinese deployed there to sop up knowledge of traditional Italian artisans and craftsmen in leatherwork, fashion and art restoration) has reported more cases!
The head-cases on Wall Street have started a sell-off. Supply chains are taking a beating as it's becoming apparent that Chinese parts can't be shipped to the U.S. Plants in China are closed to stop the expansion of the virus. Ask Apple, which had to announce it wouldn't meet earnings expectations because of its reliance upon closed Chinese parts manufacturers.
Some U.S.-based companies have had to idle employees due to a lack of Chinese parts to put in their widgets.
Business is booming for online video conferencing companies, however.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Wednesday that what President Trump has done early in the outbreak is "to buy the United States valuable time" to contain and battle the virus.
But Leftists in the media have questioned or inveighed against the president's moves

Everywhere you turn, Trump has made moves that benefit the security of Americans. Leftists believe he should be El Patron of the world as long as he's doing what they want, and right now they want a coronavirus King.
Senator Chuck Schumer has leveled the charge that Trump wasn't spending enough on the virus. What an odd charge. Congress has been asked for money to fight the virus.
This is what Trump has been doing to keep out the virus:
The "aggressive containment strategy" by the U.S. "has been working and responsible for the low level of cases that we have so far," according to the career CDC Principal Deputy Director Dr. Anne Schuchat, who spoke at the White House news conference on COVID-19. But she also urged schools, institutions, and universities to "dust off pandemic emergency plans" to be prepared. She reminded reporters assembled that the last time the U.S. had a concern like this was with the H1N1 influenza.
U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar says that there's only been one new case of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the U.S. in the last two weeks.

The stock market is getting hammered...yet again. It's a leading indicator of what's to come.
The supply chain for just about everything we buy in this country is either not being produced...for weeks or months now, or is in short supply.
This, as of now, with zero deaths and a few dozen with the respiratory illness in the U.S. and with the worst, several thousand dead, in China. A minuscule amount of deaths/illnesses by comparison to the other yearly respiratory cases.
Just think of the panic that will occur when the 1st death occurs in the U.S.!
This virus panic is really the only thing that will cause Trump to loose re-election. Trump needs more than just conservatives & the strong (R)'s among us to win. Just like 2016.

My second favorite website specializes in cruise information. There was a thread asking if “Banning People With China Passports is Racist”. Several pointed out that China isn’t a race. I was reprimanded for posting that anyone who thought it was racist had spent too much time in Diversity Training.

Juvenal never said black swans don’t exist. He simply wrote it would be unusual to see one in Europe. So he did not set up a test for falsifiability.

Per link below with details, in 2014 about $358 million was tagged for US ebola defense. $500 million went to Africa asxassistance.
Now, Sen. Schumer wants $8,500 million for coronavisus defense? 24 times more than for ebola 6 years ago?

I tend to think that the voters would NOT want to make a big change in the Presidency if we were in the middle of a crisis. The Trump Administration just needs to continue re-stating to the public the measures that they have been taking sin January and keeping up with the conditions as they may change.
While the Democrats will attempt to use this for political gain, I don’t think any fair-minded person would honestly be able to blame the virus outbreak on President Trump, or believe the clown-show Democrats could handle an outbreak more effectively. Attempts to make this political only comes off making the accuser looking crass and opportunistic.
There may be long-term gains as companies conclude that relying on a global just-in-time supply chain is too risky and start to repatriate suppliers.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would be absolutely thrilled if the virus began to spread across the country, and a number of Americans died as a result. In their minds, it’s a small price to pay for an opportunity to make President Trump look bad. These people have no conscience.
If I had confidence the majority of American voters employed common sense, knowledge, and reason as they approach the voting booth, I would not be worried about the 2020 election. But I am worried, because this is a nation filled with stupidity and ignorance.
