Missouri state lawmakers are considering a proposal that would restrict transgender high schoolers from competing in teams that don’t match their gender at birth, according to a Tuesday report.
State Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin, R-Shelby County, who introduced the bill, said transgender athletes have an unfair advantage over those who identify with their gender at birth, Springfield’s KY3 reported.
“It is a known biological fact that males are born with categorically superior strength, speed and endurance,” O’Laughlin said during an education committee hearing on Tuesday. “It has nothing to do with any other issue than trying to create a fair playing field.”

Finally a little sense returns. It is impossible to be fair by assaulting the rights of girls to help a boy support a fantasy.
This is a great move and the only correct move to make in this situation.

Sex and gender aren't synonyms — not even close. Gender is a construct — it's all in the mind. Sex is biological, binary, and immutable. Take back the language — or lose the debate!
Hope for common sense. We need national legislation to clean this up since otherwise these state-level laws will likely be found by courts to conflict with Title IX.

This entire transsexual athlete thing is ridiculous. It’s like a 180 lb. wrestler going against a 135 lb. wrestler simply because the heavier guy says he feels like he weighs 135 lbs.

Those born biological males need to compete against men, not women.
Biological women given testosterone in order to transition should ALSO be barred from competing against other women.
